Incredible and chock full of information and vintage ads
A beautiful and amazingly extensive review of how glamour was used in advertising mid-century U.S. automobiles. The amount of work that went into this volume must have been tremendous because the finished product is without peer in the category. Every page is filled with awesome pictures of ads and other promotional materials. The text is very well conceived and frames the topic in a number of categories that the illustrations then depict. The quality of the paper and printing is also way above average. I have a lot of books about automobile advertising in my collection, and this is one of, if not the, very best. Even though it's a bit pricey, it is a tremendous value given what you get. I can't imagine any buyer being unhappy with the fabulous book.

Excellent book on wonderful topic
This book scratches the itch for automotive enthusiasts with particular interest in mid-century modern advertising and lifestyle. It was a colorful time (literally as well as figuratively) for the auto industry. The book conveys the story through well-chosen illustrations, comprehensive narrative, and particular attention to how the industry promoted its products to women. Accuracy is enhanced by extensive data source citations. Sometimes the authors' infatuation with the topic is anecdotally passed along to the reader, but the text could do with a bit of judicious editing.

Amazing book!
What a great idea and execution for a stunningly beautiful automotive history book!Especially enjoyed learning that Ford actually used a gender illusionist (aka drag queen) at a luncheon to entertain the wives / girl friends whose husbands were attending an Edsel launch event way back in 1958.

Superb
This is a high quality book. Well written with beautiful photos and illustrations. There are many many books about automobiles but this is the first one that I have encountered that focuses so well on design. Highly recommended.
