I've been using steam eye masks for years, ever since I discovered the popular Japanese ones. Those are still hands down my favorite because of the quality. These steam masks are one time use only, as these are pretty much like hand warmers (same concept) and you discard after one use. They are individually foil sealed so you open one each time you want to use one. Like hand warmers, the heating mechanism starts once you open the packet, which is why they are individually sealed. This particular set does not come in an outer box packaging but instead, a thick drawstring bag, which is great because I can reuse the bag to store other things.I always fall asleep with one of these because it doubles as a sleep eye mask while also soothes and relaxes tired eyes. The warm heat is very relaxing on the eyelids and don't worry, it isn't too hot to where it will burn your skin. These obviously will not get as hot as hand warmers do. I use them almost daily, especially in the fall/winter seasons. I often buy in bulk so I've used my fair share of heated eye masks. I've tried a few different brands and was excited to try this one. My thoughts on comparing this with the Japanese brand Kao:Pros:- cuter floral design than the plain looking Japanese ones- stays warm for a slightly longer time than the Japanese ones- light pleasant fragrance- very competitive pricing, cheaper than the Japanese ones- sturdy and thick foil packaging- thick drawstring bag included, which can be reused to store other thingsCons:- nice scent but the Japanese ones are still superior in the scent department and I still prefer the relaxing fragrance of those ones- no scent selection/variety to pick from- scent wise, the Japanese ones still smell the bestOverall, these are very good heated masks that I found to be comparable to the Japanese ones. The price is also very competitive. The fragrance aside, I think you get way more overall value from these than you do the Japanese ones. These may not have as nice a packaging but so far I think these have come the closest to being my second favorite steam eye masks. Don't let the understated, non fancy packaging put you off from trying these. I myself was very pleasantly surprised because their overall packaging and design didn't make me want to try these out but I am glad I gave them a chance! If you've tried the Japanese ones before and want a cheaper alternative, give these a try. If you've never tried steam eye masks before, give these a try too! I will be repurchasing if prices stay competitive and hopefully the seller will come out with other fragrance choices.

I have been purchasing steam eye masks for several years. A good steam mask packs a lot of heat for at least a 1/2 an hour. What makes this steam mask stand out is not only does it work extremely well. But it also is beautifully crafted and packaged. First of all, they thoughtfully provide you with a nice cloth bag for travel/storage. The steam masks are individually packed and it is nice that they actually put the instructions on the outside packaging so if you give it as a gift, that person knows exactly what it is and how to use it. (good stocking stuffers)When you open each pack the steam masks does take a little while to start heating up but once it does…WOW is it warm and it lasts. I felt nice and toasty 😊 It is extremely relaxing and soothing on my eyes. Like a mini spa treatment! The material on the mask is beautifully designed and super soft against your skin/eyes. Usually, the material is thinner and scratchier. I cannot repeat enough how well these have been made. If you are looking for a quality, long lasting and hot steam that feel like a special treat. This is exactly the product that you want. I look forward to using this before I go to sleep. I also like that the price point is a steal for what you get. Very happy with this product and will get it again!

These are air-activated heated eye masks, which come individually wrapped in sturdy foil pouches. They start to heat up as soon as you open the pouch. Mine were fully heated within a few minutes, although they need skin contact to fully develop the heat.The pouches are a little ugly, but the masks inside are cute! They have a fun green leaf pattern. There are soft, stretchy, fold-out ear loops, which are surprisingly strong and hold the masks securely when you are lying down. There's no particularly perceptible perfume or scent on these, which I appreciate.The masks have a slit to go around your nose, and the heated eye areas cover the eye socket and eyebrow area well. I found the mild heat perfect for the sensitive skin around my eyes, and it was very soothing. I have a lot of sinus problems, and heat is one of the most therapeutic options for me. The heat in these masks lasted a loooong time, at least an hour. It was still hot when I stopped treating myself and got back to work.The individual pouches come in a re-usable drawstring cloth bag, which is very thick and sturdy.

After I removed my eyeglasses it’s a bit difficult, in the dark, to see the part to separate the ear piece.That being said, once it’s on, the best word to describe the feeling is, delightful.There’s a faint smell and a light heat. It’s so nice to lay back and fall asleep. It’s very comfortable. Don’t know how long it lasted because I was sleeping.I never liked to wear a sleeping mask. I get hot around my eyes and I find it uncomfortable. This was not the case. Only the heat was coming from this soft mask, no sweat from your face.The front design didn’t matter. Print or plain, who cares, it’s dark, and you can’t see it anyway.It’s not meant for other people to see you wearing it.I’m going to leave some in my guest bedroom.* I write reviews to let you know how this product was for me, and to aid you in your decision to buy or not buy.
