Does or could it scratch my cowboy boots? I dont want to order something that can damage my boots... Any experience with this?

I haven't used this to remove cowboy boots, but it fits around the heel and under the body of the boot, so if anything were to "rub: it would be on the heel and not the upper. This remover is smooth where it contacts the boot, but if you're concerned, maybe some sort of tape of moleskin might work. I love mine, but then again I just remove basic boots and nothing fancy.

A review from a buyer in 2014 indicated that her boots were damaged due to the rough finish in the "U" and my question - has this issue been corrected

I use mine all the time with my tennis shoes and Doc Martens. My boyfriend has work boots and we never noticed any issues with our footware getting scuffed.

What material is this product made out of?

Some sort of metal. It's not resin or plastic. Heavy enough to make it handy, but light enough to pack it with the gear to take to a show.
