Buy all four if you can.
It's nice to hear the perspective of others from the US of a different age & background. In the UK, we had the show in mid 1966, with series 1 & 2 shown in one continuous run, but had to wait until 1974 to see the third, with the first repeats around 1977. I'd still love to know why.It was one of the first TV shows I saw, with my older brother & parents. I didn't know about the comics, but when my Dad bought me some I was always disappointed with the content.I remember the stories in the news of boys jumping off buildings & the audio recording that Adam West made at the start of each broadcast to deal with the sad behaviour. My take on the show was it was all in the mind of the main character, maybe like the Prisoner & trying to view it as a "real world" doesn't work. I also though that Hart to Hart was inspired by the show.

One again, Jim Beard has assembled a wonderful group of writers to talk about snd analyze episodes of the Batman tv show, this time focusing on the entirety of season two. Some of the essays are comedic, some filled with trivia, and some are heartfelt reminisces. A truly enjoyable read from cover to cover.
