I’m gonna edit this review once I’ve got my house completed fully for Halloween and include pictures/videos- but these lights were the first thing I put up and just let me tell you…I’m like a kid in a candy store. Once I got them up, put them on the function I wanted then ran across the street to look at them…I was literally jumping up and down and clapping like Phoebe from Friends. At first, based on the reviews, I was hesitant because of all the “these are a nightmare to untangle”, but I went ahead and ordered them because I’m always up for a challenge. Now if you’re not a seasoned light decorator like myself, there are some mistakes that you can make that could possibly make this a tad difficult. But I’ve got some pointers for you to help out!1: don’t EVER take the twist ties off all at once.2: these lights come folded in half, and the strands are indeed a little bit braided, I’m assuming for packaging purposes. I draped The lights over my arm in the middle and simply unbraided them3: next, I kept center of the lights in my hand and untwisted the twist ties- do not let go! There are tiny zip ties for each strand of the icicle, so one by one I would release them as I went and continued to detach any lights that were getting hung up on any of the other lights.4: walk in a straight line while releasing each single line. This will help to keep the lights untangled since they will be laid out strand by strand and from there you should be good to go.All in all between unpacking, unbraiding, laying them out then installing, it was maybe an hour and a half at most and I had two strands I was working with.I hope this helps! 💜

The lights overall are nice. Nice color…the remote works nicely but as other reviews indicated they were a little difficult to unwind…. That wasn’t my issue though. As you can see by my photo there was one strand that was defective. The wire wasn’t attached to the light so it wasn’t working. I reached out to customer service and was told I could send them back however, if I did they would charge me 7.99 for the shipping and I would have to reorder another set. After several minutes going back and forth with them they told me they would credit me $10.00 if I kept them. I still have the broken lights and no $10.00 credit!!!

We have had these lights hanging outside for about 3 weeks and each of the LED housings show either rust or arcing issues, or both. Seems that there may be water intrusion causing the leads to rust or arc, causing the clear housing to be discolored with a brownish tint over the leads. It's unfortunate because the lights look good, have decent features, but these are definitely not for outdoor use and I doubt that I will be able to use these again next year, if they even last another 2 months until Halloween..

Although I had one strand that was partially broken (exchanged with Amazon with no issues), these were a great replacement for some aging incandescent icicle bulbs I had been nursing along for a few years. The old bulbs, when wound on a reel, weighed several pounds, were prone to breaking bulbs, difficult to hang and overall a pain.These new bulbs were easy to link together (disconnect the next strand from the control box and plug them into the last strand) and much lighter than then old bulbs, meaning they have a far lesser chance of breaking when taken down and spooled up for the season. No more having to hunt and peck for burned out and broken bulbs either.My only word of caution as others have pointed out is the initial unwinding when they come out of the box, Take your time and don't pull to avoid damaging the wiring. With some patience and a some outdoor workspace you can have them unwound and ready to hang without too much issue.

These icicles are a great replacement for my old incandescent icecke strings. Last year I estimated that my outdoor icicles used about 2000 watts. These strings are warm white and cut my power usage by 80%.One of the very notable features of these strings is that they come with a very long lead, so that I did not have to use any extension cords to reach a power outlet.The controllers work well, though it is somewhat confusing to select the right light function. As I like to have the lights steady-on, one has to cycle through 7 or 8 modes to get there. Each string comes with its own controller, but you can interconnect 3 strings to one controller (about 1100 lights) , which is perfect for my application.I also like the build in timer function. It has only one option: 6 hours On and 18 hours off, which fits my need very well. The controller glows green when the timer function is active.All in all, this product meets my requirements and I recommend it.

I bought these and they were easy to unwrap and hang. I read all the reviews and descriptions so I understood you had to keep the adapter box dry. It is under my porch and I duck tapped a baggie around it to be safe.But I am very disappointed with the light settings. They seem to work on the adapter but when using the remote half the settings are the same, example when pressing 1 or 3, and 4 and 6 I get the exact same light mode, so I’m quite disappointed with the remote

The lights were very difficult to untangle right out of the box. I tested them before hanging. They worked great.. The instructions (if you can call them that) do not really make it clear how to connect the strings nor tell you to remove each box from a strand that is connected to another strand. Once I hung the first strand, I tested it and it only showed white lights... no more colors. I was at a loss. Tried everything. Finally switched the box out with another box I removed from another strand and the color was back. Apparently the control boxes are not well made if they can go bad within 30 minutes of opening. The icicles do blow up on the roof because they are so light. I'm not having a lot of confidence they will last the entire holiday season. This is only day 2 of having them up.

Just set up these lights outdoor this 1st week of November 2020. We haven't had them fully running yet except just to try them out. They are beautiful and very long. Lots of different modes which is fun. I specifically purchased these because of the remote control option however the remote only works if you point it directly at the plug and you have to be pretty close to the plug, I think the max distance for the remote to work is no more than about 5ft away from the plug. I wish I was aware of these limitations in advance and I would have opted for lights with a different feature, such as ones controlled by a phone app. Also, while the lights are nice, they definitely aren't as bright as other reviews mentioned and the space between each strand is long so I put 3 rows of lights in my house to get the desired affect, as well as a row of string lights (so a total of 4 rows of lights) I'll edit my review in 2021 to provide an update on how they hold up throughout the season.

Just recvd these. Trst to light up and hung them on our 2nd story roof. Untangling them is a true test of patience and character. Then tried to change mode and they turned off and wouldnt turn back on. Later they magically came on so tried again but every time I press a button to change the mode they shut off. This happens both with remote and on the string. I vonnected 2 together and one is stuck on colour and the other on white. Uggh. Im so dissapointed bc if they worked properly theyd b nice and I risked life and limb hanging the darn things and untangling them for 2 hrs.

As with other comments you need the patience of Jobe to untangle these. Count on at least 1/2 hour and maybe a couple of drinks. Watch out the zap straps that are ~ every 6 inches are poorly trimmed and are very sharp. Overall the set works as promised but the out of box experience is poor. That said I might buy them again if they last which of course I don’t know yet...

It took a bit of time to untangle these when they came out of the box, but they look great. The many different colour combinations are great fun. I do hope they last as LED's seem to not like cold winter weather.
