It does not work
I left this "detector" in a closed room with a propane torch burning incorrectly for over 3 hours, I took a basic carbon monoxide detector into the room and it sounded after 5 minutes but this detector was reading 000ppm, this is a dangerous product and should not be sold.

Not sure if i have much confidence in the product.
Every year when british gas come to service my boiler they advise i get a co2 mnitor fitted - when i saw this i thought i will give it a go...!!The machine comes with instructions although they are not too clear and i had read them 3-4 times - it also required 3 AA batteries.I have installed the batteries i have placed it on the wall next to my boiler - and i am sure it is working...i get a green flashing light ever 30 seconds but you do not get a reading on the digital display unless it rises about a certain level when i think i would feel safer if it gave a reading on the display even if it was 0 for my own peace of mind.It does have a mark that it is EU compliant which makes me feel a bit safer - but can you trust it just because its printed on the box??I will use it for now but i think i will get a British Gas approved one when they are next here!

Carbon monoxide detector
So the description states this is a:-Carbon monoxide detector CO alarm detector with digital display and sound alarm for home. Replaceable battery operated CO alarm detector (AA Batteries NOT Included).I needed to replace my Co alarm, so was glad when this one came up to test.*** When the monitor is activated it will set off the loud alarm, and the red signal light will flash. What is different to this alarm, than my previous one is that it let's you know when the CO is at different strengths.I've added the following to show:-*** When the concentration reaches 50 ppm, an alarm will be issued every 60 to 90 minutes.*** When the concentration reaches 100PPM, it will alarm once every 10-40 minutes.*** When the concentration reaches 300 ppm, an alarm will be issued every 3 minutes. To rest the alarm just need to press the center button. And I still jump every time. Even tho I know it's going to happen lol.So far so good. Would have hoped it to have came with batterys tho...But I will update this review if needed.*** Details:- * Power Source:- Battery Powered * Colour:- White02 * Alarm:- Audible

Feels cheap, is it worth the risk?
I'd needed an additional Carbon Monoxide alarm for a while now, so was looking forward to giving this one a go. I can't quite remember how much my other one cost, but I think it was around £15.This device is very compact and weighs next to nothing. It takes three AA batteries, which aren't included so need to be purchased separately. The batteries fit into the back of the device, but without a protective cover. It has an LED display, which remains blank unless there is Carbon Monoxide detected. A bright green light flashes every 30 seconds to let you know it's still working. It doesn't appear to be possible to turn this light off, so I wouldn't recommend purchasing it for a bedroom. It's difficult to comment on how well this works, as I will, hopefully, never have to experience it doing it's job! However, what I can do is comment on the build quality, which really doesn't fill me with confidence. It feels very cheap, the plastics used feel flimsy and when it's a product that you are relying on to potentially save your life, it doesn't fill you with confidence. For £12.74 at the time of review, it's only a few pounds cheaper compared to a popular brand alternative, which gives you a 7 year guarantee and includes the batteries! Personally, I would advise spending the extra few quid on a higher quality device and not taking the risk with this one.

Good value device, needs batteries and quality of materials could be better
This is a good value carbon monoxide detector, a must have for any household, where gas’s appliances are installed in the home. I ordered this to replace one I’ve had for many years, when these monitors were far more expensive, and it’s good to know that these essential life-saving devices are now accessible and affordable. This small monitor is compact, and easy to fit. The unit is battery powered, sadly not supplied, and 3 x AA batteries are required. I’m using rechargeable batteries, and these seem to be working satisfactorily. What I particularly like about this device over my old one, is the audible ‘danger’ warning which is spoken if Co2 levels go over the recommended levels. The one thing I would say is that the manufacture and materials used are not as good quality as my previous device from British Gas, that is not to say it won’t work as effectively, but it does impact slightly on my confidence levels. So for £13.99 this carbon monoxide alarm is easy to install, set and use and its audible alarms are good. £13.99 is a small price to pay for peace of mind, as carbon monoxide is a silent killer as we all know. I do wish it had a ten year battery already installed and that it was better quality in its material., so three stars overall from me.
