Kanto P101 Universal Projector Ceiling Mount | Solid Steel Construction | Easy to Install | Black

Half-way there, requires additional purchase to complete the job.
The projector side of this mount is flexible and solidly designed. Ten extensible metal extension brackets are provided, of which you should be able to find four that will fit the bottom screw holes of virtually any modern projector. Once all screws are tightened down, this bracket assembly fits flush and secure to the bottom of the projector. In the center is a rotating tiltable suspension post that can be tensioned to allow either hand alignment of the projector angle or rigidly tightened down. So far, so good. The weak point of this mount is how the ceiling mounting plate and hollow extension poles attach to the center suspension post. The plate and poles slide loosely over the post and engage a pair of bent metal latches on opposite sides of the post. These latches pop into rectangular slots on the bottom of the plate and poles, providing safely lock to prevent the projector from falling off the ceiling plate or poles. A pair of tapped screw sockets are also provided for tightening down the plate or pole to the suspension post. The design flaw is that even when these screws are fully tightened, the projector can still be rocked back and forth within the loosely fitted rectangular latch slots. The best way I found to fix this problem is to use an exterior rectangular speaker mounting bracket instead of the supplied ceiling plate. This works because the diameter of the ceiling plate tube is the same as standard 1 3/8-inch loudspeaker mounting poles. Here is a link to a substitute speaker mounting bracket that will fit snugly and securely to this projector bracket's suspension post. The bracket's tensioning knob should be oriented against the suspension post's screw hole, not against the bent metal latch.https://www.amazon.com/EB9760-Exterior-Speaker-Mounting-Bracket/dp/B0007SL856/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1545706097&sr=8-3&keywords=speaker+stand+mount

Relatively easy installation and works like a charm
Because we live in an older manufactured home with 7-foot ceilings, I needed a low-profile projector mount. This unit took only about 20 minutes to install once I rounded up the drill, drill bits, screwdriver, and plyers. Once I determined approximately where the projector needed to be mounted, I adjusted a little to locate the nearest ceiling joists. A couple minutes with the drill driver and a pair of 3-inch lag bolts securely fastened the mounting base to the ceiling. Another 10 minutes to secure the mount to the projector and that was it. Easy to follow instructions combined with having all the parts in separate pouches made mounting the projector a relative breeze. From the ceiling to the lowest part of the projector is only 8 inches.

Inexpensive and compact
I was happy with this mount. Does the job and comes with enough adapters for any projector or height. My one complaint is it's not very tight in the rotational direction. It uses a universal, ball like, gimbal that allows adjustment of any angle. When the mount is adjusted tight enough to hold any of the swivels the rotation is not tight. If the rotation is tight the swivel is too tight. It is, however, tight enough to hold the projector unless it bumped.I also like that the projector side of the mount is easily disconnected for service from the ceiling part of the mount by simply pressing the projector upwards and rotating 45 degrees. There are two safety screws to prevent inadvertent disconnection.

Very flexible mount but...
I found this projector ceiling mount fairly easy to install. The problems that I had were related to trying to positions the legs on to the Optoma UHD60 projector. They provide 2 medium (already assembled on the mount), 2 short and 2 long set of legs, well the 2 longs are too long and the 2 short are too short. I wish they had included another pair of medium legs as this would have made it a breeze to center the mount on the UHD60 projector. I had to try several combinations until one worked. Everything else went fine until the projector was on the ceiling, then frustrations starts. The first thing I noticed was that the swivel part does not hold the position. It kept tilting towards the left which keeps the projector slightly out of level and since the UHD60 doesn't have keystone correction this is a critical point. After several removals and installs, mind you while you are doing all these adjustment you can easily, if not careful, drop your projector if you are doing it by yourself. I finally got it as close as I could of being leveled but a week later the projector is starting to lean to the left again, ugh! It seems impossible to find the sweet spot and lock down the swivel part while mounted in the ceiling and the projector is on. Another thing that was annoying was trying to put on the final 2 screws to completely secure the mount portion connected to the projector. One of the 4 tiny Allen head screws stripped, because I had to remove and install so many times. The mount seems solid and has a lot adjustments, flexibility and extra screws. I like the concept but the final adjustment is a pain in the rear. If only the final adjustment could have been done while mounted in the ceiling it would have made it a 30 minute job instead of 2 hours.

Disappointed in quality at double the price of other mounts
I needed a mount for about 6-8 inches from the ceiling and this was the closest I could find. The mount come with many options for mounting arms and screws to make attaching the projector fairly easy. The problems started when I started to connect everything to the ceiling mount. First off the extension tube's adjustment holes were not properly drilled or aligned, the large mounting screw did not want to go through both sides of the tube. Next there were set screws to put in the tubes to keep them from moving, the thread of the mounting tube ended up stripping out. Finally there are two screws to thole the projector mount into the extension tubes, the holes for these screws are filled with plastic so the screws can not be threaded in.I did not see many options in the length I needed, other mounts were all very close to the ceiling or way too long and this mount was about my only option. Hopefully everything stays in place and I dont ever have to move the projector. Overall I am disappointed with the quality of what was received since so many parts did not want to work properly.

Solid, well made, many fittings included.
Very well made and totally solid when installed. Flexible options including multiple fasteners. You firstly mount a plate on the ceiling with or without one or both of the supplied dropper tubes. You then mount a bracket directly to the projector (plenty of adjustments and fastener options). The bracket on the projector has a spigot protruding from it with a couple of spring loaded clips. Once mounted, holding the projector, you push the spigot into the ceiling mount until the clips latch into place (just like door latches). The spigot is attached to the projector bracket by a tensioned ball joint (adjustable) and once mounted, you position the projector by putting pressure against the ball joint in the direction required. To remove the projector is easy, you simply push it up a little to depress the latches, turn the whole projector through approx 45 degrees and withdraw gently downwards. The latches are kept depressed and don't engage, allowing removal. All in all, it's an excellent design. My only criticism is that when adjusting the position of the projector, there is quite a bit of free play before you begin to put pressure on the ball joint. This resulted in a few attempts to get the perfect position. It's not that big a deal really, as once set you'll rarely need to touch it again.

Compact and stylish with great customer support...
I don't often write reviews but this is one of those occasions when I felt compelled to do so. My requirements were for a ceiling mount with minimal drop in order to get the image as close to the ceiling as possible (I am projecting over a fireplace). It had to be unobtrusive (as it is in the lounge), easy to assemble and mount to a single ceiling joist. This mount satisfied every requirement. It is very compact and elegantly styled (as far as a ceiling mount can be). I attached the ceiling plate through the plaster board and joist using 2 x M8 Coach Screws and am satisfied that this is a solid installation (it needs to be as I sit underneath it!).To cap the whole experience, on opening the box and checking the comprehensive range of fittings, I noticed that 1 (out of very many) of the plastic spacer washers was missing (it should have had 4 of each size but only 3 of one particular size were in the pack). It made no difference to my installation because, like many projectors, mine only uses three support arms. Nevertheless, you never know what the future may bring so I emailed the company in Canada and the very same day they posted a complete set of 4 washers to me.In summary, I had looked at many different options before settling on this projector mount but couldn't find anything at this price point with such a compact, stylish and unobtrusive design - all of this supported by excellent customer service. Highly recommended.

Great low profile projector mount
Wanted lowest possible profile for my projector and found this one with 3", which was great. Was very easy to put together instructions were adequete. You do have to figure out how to position the arms to suit the configuration of your own projector. As its universal it has lots of options for positions / different screws and fixings. Found a configuration that worked for my projector within 2 mins of playing around. Once attached to the ceiling is very easy to attach the projector. The only issue I have had with my mount is I cant get the picture square on my screen. No matter how many ways i move it or chnage the keystone the picture just cant get square. I think i have to take the mount apart and ensure the fixings are all 100% level to make sure i get an even picture from my projector. 4 stars instead of 5 because of this. Even though its my own fault. If it was easier to get a balance on the fixings id have given 5 star

As slim as they come.
Wanted the shallowest ceiling mount I could find and this was about it. Comes with a box load of adaptor arms, washers for flush mounting, and screws of all sizes, even tools. Didn't choose to use any of the extension poles for reasons above. Very pleased and offers quick release if required.

Fantastic projector mount
Extremely pleased with this projector mount. Came with multiple sets of arms to fit any size projector and all the spacers and bolts in various sizes you could ever need.Used without the extension tube, allows mounting the projector very close to the ceiling, as was my need but the adjustable extension tube allows the projector to be mounted further away if required.Very sturdy and well made and amazed at all the fittings provided.
