MY BAD! - RE Audio at doorbell very weak and quiet.
Re my initial review below: First of all, Amazon couldn't have been more accommodating. After numerous live tech support calls, I heard from Kevin, a supervisor. After sending him some recordings of the barely audible audio, he sent me a new unit. I noticed as I peeled off the shrink wrap that it covered the speaker. "Hmmm, that didn't come off so easily on the first one. I think I thought it was weather protection designed to stay on and protect the case."You see where this is going...I removed the film from the first one and, as suspected - perfectly clear audio.Knucklehead.I wish I could give this 6 stars for Amazon's graciousness and support. If I shout into my phone and put my ear next to the doorbell I can barely hear it. I can hear audio FROM the doorbell fine on my phone, just not working in the other direction. Network is great, full bars...still works fine as a motion sensor doorbell, just don't try communicating with anyone at the doorbell. I thought this would compare favorably with the Ring doorbell but maybe I should have spent more.

Great value but not top-tier
Let me start by saying I am happy with this product and I plan to keep using it, however the three areas I was asked to rate it could all use improvement. Let me break it down.Pros:-Affordable entry-level doorbell camera. I got it at a great price from Amazon Treasure Truck.-Ease of use. It was easy to set up and it performs well when it comes to recording people who come up to your doorstep.-Performance. It has built-in audio equipment, is good resolution, and functions well with the Sync Module and your smartphone.Cons:-The motion sensor is finicky. Yes, you can make it more sensitive, and it will pick up more, but it will also NOT pick up certain things you'd expect it to. It also doesn't seem to handle contrasting light levels well. My doorstep is well-shaded while the road it overlooks gets bright, so the definition in the road is pretty hazy because it's over-exposed. The same occurs with the night vision, another area that could use improvement.-The night vision kicks in and makes my doorstep very bright but the road it overlooks (and my driveway) stays pretty dark. Since I'm trying to keep an eye on my mailbox, as well as my doorstep, this is something I wish worked better.-Connectivity speed: This is probably my biggest disappointment. I'll often be inside my home and hear a noise outside. Since I don't have a peephole in my door, I try to use the app to get a live feed of what's going on outside. Not only is there a delay in the playback, but there will almost always be a solid 10 to 15 seconds before I get any playback, at all. A lot can happen in that time so I wish the live connectivity was more snippy.Overall it's a good, accessible buy, just don't expect a top-of-the-line product.

Great Video Doorbell; Subpar Screws
I replaced my doorbell with the Blink Video Doorbell. When installing, I highly recommend pre-drilling like the instructions tell you. I tried just screwing the screws into the door trim with my torque screw set to 10lb-ft since that's what I usually use for more permanent applications. I usually use torque screws because I'm notorious for over tightening things. As I was turning one of the screws, the screw head twisted and came off of the screw body that was still inside the door trim. I got the embedded screw out with a plier and drove to my local hardware store and bought a box of screws. This time, I pre-drilled and screwed the screws in at 3lb-ft.Apart from the screw mishap, the doorbell itself works great. I've been using it for about a month and get dozens of notifications on my phone a day. I was worried that the fairly decent number of people walking in and out, delivery trucks, and neighborhood traffic in front of my house would cause it to run out of batteries within a month, but it's still chugging along.I'm not what someone would call handy. This was the first time I ever drilled a hole in my house, and the instructions were fairly simple and easy to follow. I was also really glad that the video doorbell integrated with my existing door chime on my first wiring attempt.
