Fantastic second book - even better then the first
I have been in a weird reading slump for almost this whole year, hardly anything keeps my attention these days, this book tho...I couldn't wait to pick it up and keep reading. I have been mostly listening to audiobooks because of this slump and this one had me getting my hands on the e-book as well so I could read it when I couldn't listen.I was hooked from the start. Not just with the gritty murder set up but with the way Slaughter built confusion around the crime scene and kept pulling the rug out from under me. Once again, this was well crafted. Great pacing. This one wraps up very well.We also got tons more character building of Will Trent and I enjoyed Faith's character a lot.Again, this is gritty and the crimes are very dark. But man, I needed to know everything.Pretty good on audio, hopeful to see some improvement with character differentiation in the next books. Audible has a package deal with books 2-4 for just one credit.

First one better
This was sloggy from the beginning. What happened to the form of the first book, I hope the series gets better.

sometimes a little slow
Enjoyed the book, some sections were a little slow but overall very interesting and not expecting the next events coming up. Love Carin Slaughter and especially Will Trent.

Book 2 Will Trent
As a former Special Education teacher (Learning Disabilities (emphasis) I found that the insight into people with disabilities was well researched. Illiteracy and dyslexia can be intertwined. If a student can' t read it maybe he/she was never taught or his/her disability was so severe that words were indistinguishable. The story is a well written and excellent novel about a complicated detective who is compensating for his disabilities while solving a difficult murder case.

not bad
It wasn’t a bad book, kinda kept you guessing who did it. I feel like her books are longer than they need to be but overall good.

What A Ride!
Karen Slaughter has me hooked . I'm a big fan of the Will Trent TV show, so I saw many similarities and some changes as well. Will is a complicated character with what he has had to to hide his Achilles of dyslexia. Not many people are aware of it and he wants to keep it that way.And book is great. Love the interaction of Angie, Faith ,Amanda and of course sweet Betty.A mother arrives home to find her daughter murdered and what looks like someone trying to attack her and she kills him, only to find out he was not the killer and the dead girl is not her daughter. Her daughter has been kidnapped. Exciting story and very well written.

WOW, another amazing page turner by Karin Slaughter
Another amazing page turner of a thriller by Karin Slaughter. Powerful, intense, gripping, passionate story line as always. You get really engrossed within the characters and the story line you have to keep reading and turning to the next page to find out what happens as there are twists & turns you would not expect.

Unputdownable when my baby allowed ❤️
Unputdownable. When my darling 6month old allowed of course. I loved every page. I couldn't get through it fast enough. I love the addition of Faith Mitchell.
