simple to use, makes a nice flower. best with light wt. fabric(there is a lot of gathering on this one) & strong heavy thread that can handle strong pulling. good tutorials online if instructions seem confusing.

This little device truly is easy to use, it's amazing, i love that there's a video to show you how touse it, also as it ststed, it has numbers for you to follow step by step. I loved it, im very happy I purchased it. I recommend it to everyone who loves to craft. You can make flowers with all kinds of materials. You can use these flowers to make brooches, hair pins, add to your clothing. Possibilities are endless. I may sound like a spokesperson for clover, but I'm not, i am just giving an honest review because I really do love it!!

I am working on a quilt that needs a little something 3-dimensional. Quilt pattern suggested yo-yos, so I decided to buy the Clover yo-yo maker. This item was suggested, and the flowers are adorable, so I thought it would add even more interest to my quilt. While a yo-yo takes one circle and turns it into a cute embellishment, this tool requires one square of fabric for every petal, so 5-6 squares to make a flower. They were trickier to form into proper petals than I expected, but ultimately I got them there. I don't like the raw edges that this flower has when it is done - the yo-yo is turned under to prevent fraying. Ultimately I like the tool and it does what it is supposed to, but I think I get just as much impact from a traditional yo-yo with much less fabric and effort. This will probably be one of those tools that sits in a drawer and rarely touched.
