The Batman Chess Set (The Dark Knight vs The Joker)

This has to be one of the best values in chess sets here or anywhere. Not sure why the hell or when the hell chess sets became an exclusive item for the rich! The prices I have seen have been absolutely shocking!!! There's some kind of monopoly with chess but thank goodness it has not reached its ugly tentacles to this set. The box is pretty nice size and has a folding board...this board is the only weak part of the whole set because it is made of cardboard, folds and might not last especially with kids. However, the rest of the set is outstanding! Really nice pieces. The pieces are also large and very well detailed. They are plastic but that is ok - makes it more durable. Overall this is a great set for adults or kids.

This was the best gift. The pieces are larger but absolutely perfect. The quality is so great. It is light weight and the design is magnificent. Extremely detailed and the best chess set I have seen.

This is a detailed colorful set and looks great in my display case which shows six sets at a time. I do not plan to use the set to play actual games. I noticed one reviewer complaining about the black pieces and white pieces and who goes first... but for those with that concern: If you want the Batman team to play as White, you just place the Queen (Batgirl) on the light square D1 and Batman on the dark E1.... Joker, as Black King then goes on the White E8 and the Queen (Harlequin) on the dark D8. You can have either side be white and move first.... just set up for White and Black accordingly. Great set!

Purchased as a gift for my grandson who is a big Batman fan. I did not know what to expect but it didn't matter. It was Batman. I thought it was expensive. I was pleasantly surprised by the quality and detail of the set. The weight and color of the pieces were fantastic. Definitely worth the money.

this chess set is cool and the chess pieces are very detailed. the only negative is the pieces don't have the chess symbols so you do not know witch chess pieces is the knight , bishop or rook .

Arrived on time and undamaged. My 9 year old son just started playing chess this year in his school's chess club. For his 10th birthday this year I scoured the net for a decent, fairly priced and sturdy chess set. After browsing a couple dozen online and local stores I decided on the Batman set. It wasn't exactly the theme he wanted but he LOVES it. I, however was extremely impressed with the set. The pieces are nicely weighted and the detail on them is well done. I have not seen any flashing or poor painting on any of the pieces. The board is standard heavy cardboard that you would find with any board game. The pieces come in plastic trays that hold them well and pop in and out with relative ease. The only thing I would have liked better (and would have paid a little more on the price point for) is a little cloth bag for each side's pieces. IE. A Batman bag and a Joker bag. It is hard to improve on this set though. I looked for weeks for a nice set for his b-day. There are some cheap things out there, I saw quite a few for the same price that were cheap foam pieces where if you breathed out you move the piece. For the price and the quality I would buy a set again if I needed it! If the manufacturer makes more themes, they can look forward to more purchases from me.. ((((HINT HINT.. Avengers!))))

I bought this chess set as a gift. The recipient loved it.

The pieces are sturdy, colorful and super fun to play with. The board is of typical quality for a board game but is bright with cool graphics. I love the two bags that hold the chess pieces. If I didn't have cats that would bat the pieces all over the house I would leave it out as a decoration. I highly recommend this chess set.

Hubby had been learning chess on Duolingo. So, I wanted to buy him a chess set, but not one of those boring wooden ones. The board and pieces are fabulous. It takes a bit of thought to remember which I'd bishops and knights, but we'll get there. My only disappointment is that the box was damaged.
