Could not be happier. We split some elm logs that were full of knots and 40" in diameter no problem.

Splitter failed after 6 hours use. Yardmax Support is useless!
The splitter is well designed and worked well until it failed. After 6 hours use it would not start. I pulled the spark plug and checked for spark. There was none. I called Yardmax support and the lady tried to convince me the problem was bad gas. I finally got the point across that the motor will never start without a spark. She said the problem was with the engine and Yardmax doesn't stock parts for the motor. I explained that the Yardmax manual that came with the machine said the splitter was warranteed for three years, 2 years for the motor, and 1 year for the hydraulics. She said I would need to deal with Briggs and Stratton for the warrantee on the engine. I looked at the Briggs and Stratton website so I could call support. They conveniently didn't provide any contact information for Support. I decided to fix the problem myself. Turns out the problem was a bad armature coil. I ordered a new one from Amazon for $34. ... Since the only parts that are likely to fail on the log splitter are the engine or hydraulics it isn't likely that Yardmax will ever be be obligated to provide any warrantee service. Seems a bit shady to me. Bottom line is; log splitter gets my approval, Yardmax support fails big time.

If you buy this splitter buy a second for a back up
My son bought a 35 ton splitter and it worked for about 15 hours. Then the wedge stopped moving from that point on nothing, brought it to local repair shop ror warranty repair. The service shop is very good and always has been. The yard max company has come up with every excuse known to man! Almost a year later and no path to repair!! Garbage!!

Extremely Heavy Duty, great value
Well built and extremely heavy duty. Comes with pre-filled pre-bled hydraulic system, touch up paint, pre-packed wheel bearings, engine oil, and all required hardware. Very heavy and awkward to assemble due to hyd cylinder and main beam needing to be positioned with hyd hoses alraedy attached. Good assemby instructions, however. My use so far has been on fir, cedar, oak, and birch rounds up to 40” diameter. Absolutely no stalling out, no problems whatsoever. Amazing how easy it powers through even the largest rounds and even really large (4”) knots cant stall it out. Horizontal work height for smaller rounds is perfect, vertical use for the big stuff is easy enough. To cam up into vertical position, it helped to fully extend the spitter ram, as the cyl and head weight then helps cam the beam up as you lift it into position. The cycle time is extremely fast but very controllable (no jerky stuttering or hard to modulate lever strokes). Fuel usage is high (but I have been really working it so far). Engine very easy to start, very smooth idle and speed control. My only complaint is the non adjustable jack stand, as the tongue weight is heavy and unwieldy. I plan to simply replace the jack with a hand-crank style adjustable one. Compare this in person to any splitter in the 20 ton or under range and you will easily see the value. Much better built and much heavier construction.

This splitter is a Beast!
I purchased this through Home Depot. It arrived within a couple days. Assembly video was great and it went together as seen in the video. You need two people to lift the main beam, but once upright, it's really stable. I split wood for an hour without issue and it went through Oak, Maple and other hard wood. Nothing could slow this down. The 4-way wedge was preinstalled and I could locate the 2-way. Sent email (on a Sunday) to support and got almost an immediate response that the 4-way is over the 2-way and all I needed to do was remove the 4-way. Great customer service.
