Hopefully this helps! If you have more questions or need additional help, please visit newportvessels.com or give us a call at (866) 721-0002! Our hours are M-F, 8:30am-4:30pm Pacific Time. Best, -NV Team **Q: Is 30 inches a good shaft length for a transom on a 14 foot aluminum boat?** A: The answer to your question depends on several factors including the height of your transom and the draft of your boat. Measure the draft from the line on the hull and the height of the transom. Most motors work best at 5"-10" below the water's surface. You can determine where your prop would be reasonably well with the above measurements and decide whether a 30" shaft is sufficient. It probably is. If you intend to take the boat in a large body of water, you'd be better off with a higher-thrust motor. By the way, so far as I can tell (my NV-36 is mounted on a kayak and the lakes are still frozen), this seems to be quite a good product and I had a very good experience with the seller. (I also have a Min-kota). Joseph Ray **Q: Can the mounting bracket be adjusted to position it where you want to on the shaft? Hard to tell by the picture.** A: Hi, The transom bracket is secured to a mounting position and then the shaft has the ability to be adjusted. There is a height adjustment collar located just above the transom bracket that allows you to position the height of the motor to your application. There is also a directional lock that allows you freely rotate the motor 180 degrees when loose or to lock it in a direction when fully tightened. How soon will it be here?** A: Definitely in one hour an 10 minutes... ## Frequently Bought Together - Newport NV-Series Thrust Saltwater Transom Mounted Trolling Electric Trolling Motor w/LED Battery Indicator - Newport 12V50Ah Deep Cycle Heavy-Duty Marine Battery, Lightweight & Sealed AGM, Trolling Motor Compatible - INTEX 68624EP Motor Mount Kit: Easy to Attach – Heavy-duty Composite Mount – Marine Plywood – Aluminum Support Arms – Fits up to 3.0 HP Motors --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - πŸ›’ **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** β€” Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** β€” Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - πŸ’° **No Hidden Fees** β€” All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - πŸ”„ **15-Day Free Returns** β€” Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - πŸ”’ **Secure Payments** β€” Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** β€” Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.jp/products/361628837-newport-vessels-nv-series-62lb-thrust-saltwater-transom-mounted-trolling](https://www.desertcart.jp/products/361628837-newport-vessels-nv-series-62lb-thrust-saltwater-transom-mounted-trolling) --- *Product available on Desertcart Japan* *Store origin: JP* *Last updated: 2026-10-29*
