Terrible lead quality
I wanted to like these. However the quality of the lead is terrible! Every attempt at writing something ended in the lead snapping. Easily remedied by reloading different lead, but I didn’t buy it to have to chuck out the lead it came with. Another downside is there isn’t an eraser.

I wish Onyx and Green sold more stuff! I love these pencils. They are nice to use, high quality and recycled! I use all of the Onyx and Green products - and these were and excellent addition to my collection!

Nice bamboo, but very cheap mechanism
It's a nice idea, using sustainable materials to make the products we use everyday. This one could have been done better. There's no eraser, which is a demerit in my book. When using the pencil, the mechanism slides up and down every time you put the tip to the page and pick it up again. The movement is only a millimeter, but this gives the pencil a cheap feel. The top slides up and down a lot, giving the impression that it's going to fall off, and may make you think that it slides off to put more leads in. Interestingly, the top screws on, which means that your spare leads won't ever fall out accidentally. The bamboo barrel has a diameter of about 11mm, and feels nice in your hand. The thickness of the barrel is uneven and the inside is bigger than the mechanism, so the mechanism may not be centered properly (although you can move it around) and can leave the plastic screw-on tip with a sharpish edge protruding beyond the barrel. When you get down to about a half inch of lead left, the pencil won't hold it anymore, and I haven't had any luck with the lead being fed from the reserve. I had to take the lead out and feed it backwards through the tip. There are better pencils everywhere. The information from the seller is confusing. Some places it says that the lead is .5mm, elsewhere .7mm. Amazon doesn't seem to have a good way to deal with this kind of problem.
