Although they say they redesigned the type of plastic being used, I would not try to flex or remove the two half's with out first running under some warm water to release the ice balls from the form in fear of it cracking. The plastic is a lot like those inexpensive clear storage totes that easily crack. The seals hold well and no leaks. So far I've made 3 sets of balls through each of the forms. Did it with tap water and a few with boiled (then cooled first) to get some nice crystal clear balls. Distilled water would give you the same results.Only difficultly was getting the water into the holes because their is no way for the air to escape and allow the water to get in at the same time when trying to hand pour the water in. As soon as I saw the forms I figured it would be a problem. I used a straw to assist with the release of air, but will pick up a small funnel and allow the air to escape around the outside of the funnel next. If you don't, you will waste most of the distilled water.

This is the best ice ball makers I’ve purchased so far. It’s easy to fill and has sturdy base so the water doesn’t move all over the place. The ice balls come out pretty easy from the too. I’ve purchased at least four different types of ice ball makers some a little more expensive that can only produce one ice ball in 24hrs. This one does six in less time. Worth the purchase.

This is great! We love the huge round ice cubes! The ice cube tray works well and the cubes pop out easily. I'm impressed with the ease of filling as well!

Mold works great. Nice to have the ability to make 6 cubes at a time. The silicone fill port makes it easy to pop the cubes out for use. Recommended

You have to be very meticulous in making sure each section of the mold is seated and then not flex the mold as you set it on a flat area in the freezer, otherwise a few of the sections will leak water leaving you with half a ball. I am going to try small clamps to see if this helps hold the seal better, but pay attention to seating them. The balls do not come out clear, and often they start to crack right away when they hit the warm air. They still make drinks much colder and last a long time.

Awful product. The two pieces do NOT fit together. They are loose. That means that when you fill the cubes up with water, it leaks! Bad design. I couldn't even put the tray into the freezer- water completely spilled out. They need to follow other manufacturers and have a plastic bottom and a silicon top that fits inside the rim of each cube holder.
