Bungee Pupee 6-Feet Medium Leash, Red/Black

First I want to make it clear that I don't think this leash is meant for walking. It will make walking very hard as you lose some control compared to non-bungee leash. But it makes a perfect tool for restricting my 40 lb puppy with me all the time. Since his brother is running around, confining him in the pen is more annoying as he screams pushes to try to get out. Using regular leashes around my waist hurts a lot when he unpredictably darts toward his brother who's running by. This leash absorbs the shock and is much more comfortable.

I recently purchased a bungee leash because someone recommended it. I thought it would gently let her know she was at the end of the leash and then she would know to ease up. But that is the exact opposite of what it does. When she gets to the end she digs in and lunges to get it to stretch that extra foot. It is the worst leash invention of all time. It literally teaches the dog that if you pull really really really hard you can go further. So... yea, that was a $25 lesson that I learned recently.

I have a 37 lb Australian shepherd mix who pulls viciously on the leash, to the point that she was giving me tennis elbow. I used the kong traffic leash ( KONG PB Traffic Leash  before and it was not enough shock absorption. Plus, it yanks the dog back on her own instead of me having to yank the leash. The only thing keeping it from 5 stars for me is the fact that when it recoils and pulls the dog back sometimes she gets a bit tangled in the leash. I have the leash for heavier dogs for my bigger dog, and when I use that leash with this dog, she can't pull at all, but she still doesn't tug me.

We have been using these leashes for quite awhile now, ever since we saw them at a Pet Expo. They really do help for dogs that pull...we do use them along with an Easy Walk Harness. The two of them together work perfectly !!!! Much better than a retractable or a normal nylon leash.
