Absolutely solid against wind chills!
My house has had significant drafts from both the front door and the garage door in winter, and leaking cool air out in summer. I was desperate. This tape is amazing! I started using it early summer. It completely stopped the air conditioning leak intobthe outdoors and into the garage. It literally cut my electric bill from an average of $160 during the heat of summer to about $110. I even had to turn the temperature up because it got too cold since I was no longer wasting air conditioning. But it really paid off this week. I live near Chicago, where the wind chills have been as low as -40 or colder this past several days. In the past, I'd feel horrid drafts come through the front, so bad I'd have to stuff things around the door. This tape, which is very easily applied in about two minutes, affixes to the edge ofcthe door on the inside. It overlaps the edge of the door and rests on the trim. Because the tape is very thick plastic, the wind cannot push it open and sneak past. It rests flush and is as effective as completely sealing off the door in plastic, which makes the door unusable. This gives you full access to come in and out with incredible protection against environmental issues. I have also noticed my gas bill is less and I can keep it set a couple degrees cooler because I'm not experiencing cold drafts. As an elderly person who has chronic health issues that leave me susceptible to exteme temperatures, this is a miracle!

Great quality tape
I purchased this to seal in the gaps of my ikea cabinet to hold my tropical plants. It was very sticky but it's been 3 years and it has still held up! So it functions exactly as advertised. Some areas peeled off, but because of its adhesiveness, I was able to just stick it right back on without any issues. But due to it's great stickiness, I found that working with shorter strips easier to avoid it sticking to itself. The tape is very clear so it looks great because it mostly stays invisible, and surprisingly also easy to cut without leaving sticky residue everywhere like other tapes.

Not the best, not the worst.
On the one hand you’ve got drafty windows that you can feel. On the other hand you could use some super sticky semi-permanent tape to get the job done. This tape falls somewhere in the middle. It’s easy to work with, but it doesn’t maintain its stickiness as easily when taping corners and tricky spots. Works well if you have a completely flat surface/gap you are covering. If you can tape a flat surface in one application, then you are good, but if you need to pull the tape up and reseat it, then your stickiness loses a bit. I wouldn’t mind trying a different product that can hold better even with corners and reseating the tape. But, 3M is kinda the king of clear tape. This 10 yard roll got me About 3-4 windows (bottom half) of coverage. If you’ve got drafty windows, live where you have a major cold weather event not so often and have no plans to replace your windows soon: give this a try. I did clean my surface, but I admit I did not use alcohol to clean the surface as they suggest. Also, I suggest applying this a day or so before you need it so it last as long as you need it. I doubt it will leave a sticky residue behind.

Perfect for sealing interior storm window to window jam/stop moldings
Worked really well to seal the small 1/8" gap between my home-made interior storm windows and the stop moldings (which hold the window sashes in place). This tape is clear, sticks very well, but can be easily peeled off and restuck to fix alignment or to remove bubbles without damaging the painted wooden parts of my window.

On the fence
I have used this tape on several windows and I'm still not sure what I think about it. It definitely is a quick fix approach to sealing cracks and it doesn't require any special skill or tools. To some extent, the tape definitely works but the hard thing is that I don't know how well. The cold air flow can definitely be sealed shut, but cold air will still permeate the tape. I don't feel like there is any particular risk to our paint job as I had to lift the tape several times to get it applied just right. It is adhesive and sure but not aggressively so. If done right, it is not very apparent that it is even applied. However, that kind of result either takes a LOT of patience or maybe a natural touch. If not done well, it can look really sloppy. Getting the tape into a corner without it sticking to one side before I was ready took some practice. I found using smaller lengths of tape made the process easier to manage. The package doesn't come with a way to cut the tape and it cannot just be ripped. You will need scissors to make a clean cut. I think this tape is a fine short term solution, but I will likely remove it and caulk/patch for a cleaner, more long term solution.

Life Saver
I live in a studio apartment and I have a bay window with a couch by it. Only one of my windows has storm windows and I had a terrible draft coming in through the other two and my apartment wouldn't budge above 62°F and I live in Boston. I could not go anywhere near my couch by the windows for days because of how cold it was even with a blanket. I don't pay for heating but I do like feeling comfortable in my apartment. The maintenance crew used painters tape on the sides and bottom of the windows but there was still a draft coming in from the top of the windows. I was contemplating if I should get the Window Shrink-Film Insulator kit but I like being able to use the blinds SO.. I came across this. The tape is thick and the material is similar to car decals for glass. Knowing of the 3M brand I know their product's have very strong adhesive that made me skeptical in case it rips off the paint. The adhesive is strong enough to stick to any surface but easy to come of without ripping off the surface or paint while I was applying and adjusting. Since it'll be on there for a couple months I'll see if it rips of the paint at the end of winter. I got this for my window in mid January when it's 15°F outside SO IT'S NOT TOO LATE TO GET THIS DURING WINTER, IT'S A LIFE SAVER. It was easy enough to apply but BE CAREFUL it sticks to the surface really quickly. My apartment went from 60 to 67 degrees within 5 hours. My windows are about 3 1/4 wide by 5 1/4 high. I only used this tape to do the top of the windows so I have quite a bit left over but if I had to seal all 3 windows I would probably need a 2-3 rolls (this is just guessing). The clarity of the tape it good, I barely notice it unless the light is hitting it and creating a sheen. When I'm reading reviews I like being able to see images of the product so I uploaded a photo of how it looks applied to the window frame. Like I said it's barely noticeable (I guess that's why there are no review photos up of it) so I put my fingers over the width of it to show where the tape is. For this window I was lazy to make it fit in the crease of the window so there's a gap but I guess that creates a little insulation pocket.

Somewhat Pricey - Very Flexible - Can Leave Some Residue
Does its job to seal out drafts. Does leave some residue (if you remove it seasonally for AC units like I do). Has a nice gummy flexibility to it. Mostly good, kinda speedy.

Well worth the money
Brilliant for sash windows that are not double glazed, seals draughts perfectly, is easy to use, and can be stripped off without fuss after winter use. Takes some time to get to England from America but I haven't found a European source yet. Well worth the money.
