This are my everydaycarry radios... very good radios.. But the service.... the best... I live in Puerto Rico and we use TMOBILE network... when radios arrived they did'nt work with the sims they brougth i make contact with CS and explaine them... less than 2 weeks 2 new sims cards arrived and radios running perfect... thanks a lot..

Excellent product. They are affordable. They work perfectly. They are small and cute. Even my kids love them. I wish I had found out about them earlier. So easy to set up. Standby time is for days. I highly recommend them.

I ordered these 2 HTs in the same day I got my GMRS license in 2021. At the beginning I thought It was a good deal and I started using them with my family in the neighborhood. Day by day I got serious about GMRS and started to experimenting with other features of the radio. And I came across so many problems, Then I have got 2 UV-5Rs radios and I had chance to compare them with UV-5R... CHIRP sees these radios as "Radioddity - UV-5G"... I believe they are based on really old and buggy UV-5R firmware and their power is reduced. (meaning they do not output 5W compare to UV-5R) there are so many bugs and problems with these radios; for example few of them; Slows down or pause during scanning channels for unknown reason, and continues for a while, squeal doesn't work properly, sometimes it stops working completely and you need to turn off-on the radio, it doesn't let you add custom repeater channels other than first 30 channels. Roger beep hit-and-miss, sometimes makes weird noises. ... etc. list is too long. These radios are not reliable for serious communication.

OUTSTANDING quality and performance for a budget ht. Currently hold a GMRS license so my experience with radio was use in these frequencies, especially in use with repeaters. The ht’s accompanied myself and family to upstate AZ, kept us in touch and range is phenomenal! I was able to hit a repeater from 25+ miles away! Terrain was smoothed not many hills and no tall buildings, so line of sight was clear. Clear transmissions in Zion national park as well! Also, close to my home I’m also connected to repeater on top of mountain with a distance of about 15miles. I truly would not hesitate to purchase these radios as extra or to as an edc ht. They work well, what more to say. 73s

Radios appear to be well-made and do not have the "toy" feel to them. A rubber plug for the battery charging jack would be nice. To take advantage of the repeater capability, you'll have to do some programming and that is covered in the manual. The ability to easily bounce between two channels as well as two frequencies (channels and frequencies are treated differently by the radios and can be programmed - you should read the manual for the full breakdown of this feature). Honestly, I will most likely use them on the GMRS channels and the NOAA weather channels. ADVICE: Unless you're an experienced radio-head, take time to read the manual, otherwise you may end up frustrated, as it is a heavily menu-oriented device and has a ton of parameters you can adjust. The manual's English is pretty good! I have tried to read through much, much, much worse. The only issue I had was with the accessory speaker/mics that came with the radios - they did not function AT ALL. A quick Google on this told of mis-wiring at the factory on A LOT of them. I contacted TIDRADIO's, customer support center, via email, and within 24 hours they replied with an offer of a credit to my Amazon account so I could buy replacements. I bought a pair of BaoFeng speaker/mics and they work perfectly (TIDRADIO and BaoFeng are now in business together, apparently.) Hope this helps, for the money it is about impossible to go wrong for these 5-watt handhelds.

These radios are amazing. I bought them so my 11 year old son could take one with him when he goes fishing everyday, and no matter where I am, I can still reach him. The clarity is great, and have not had any issues. The app is pretty sweet too!

As traveling it keeps changing channels so not able to talk to any one your travel with so only give it a two
