The bag is incredibly small and looks like there are hardly any cotton balls in the bag, but surprisingly there are a LOT of cotton balls! I used these for a Halloween craft and was sure I’d need to order a second bag, but I didn’t need to and I had a lot of unused balls in the bag. The cotton is good quality too.

I don't know if it's just me but I definetly thought there'd be quite a few more than there was. I forgot to look before I started writing this so I forget exactly how many cotton balls there are in this pack but either way I was kind of shocked when I received mine. It was the smallest pack of cotton balls I've ever seen. I also don't know what amount comes in the package size I was picturing this would be but to give a general idea of what you can expect from these I cleaned out a glass candle jar, like a full size Yankee candle with a lid and that's what I keep cotton balls in on my bathroom counter. This bag easily fit in the jar on top of just a few I had left. Granted there cotton balls which you can squish down pretty much but I didn't have to squish all that much. Other than that I have nothing bad to say about them. They seem to hold up fine and they're soft and absorbent and pretty much what I'd expect a cotton ball to be. I do generally buy the jumbo size because they just seem better suited for my uses which vary but often involve putting them over the opening of some bottle of liquid than turning it upside down to let it soak in and I'd have to use roughly 4 or 5 of these versus one of them which isn't a complaint because these aren't advertised as jumbo. To sum it up performance wise I'd say these are fine it's just good to know that you really aren't getting alot.

I use the cotton balls for two completely different functions. First, They are great for starting seedlings in hydroponics. They are cheaper and more effective than other mediums for starting your seeds and are readily available and easily replaced. My second use is as a fire starter when camping. I wipe them with petroleum jelly. They will burst into flame with only a spark and last for at least 3 minutes on average, plenty of time to start a fire. They even work when it is actively raining. They don't add to your pack weight significantly, just store them in a freezer bag. They can also be handy in your first-aid kit for cuts and abrasions. I hope this has been helpful!
