DayBook Studio Empty Watercolor Paint Pans - 14 Pans with 1 Magnetic Strip

Came with 16 half pans, rather than the 14 advertised. The magnet material is decent. The adhesive sticks well to the half pans, and the magnet is strong enough to hold filled pans in place. All 16 half pans will fit into a regular Altoids can (50g size), but I decided to put them in the metal tin that QoR six-color watercolor sets come in so I can also keep a few short handle brushes in the tin and have the lid for a mixing palette. Use a rubber band to strap that to a 5x7 watercolor pad and you're ready to paint anywhere.This kit is all it's advertised to be. The reason I didn't give it five stars is the price. You can get half pans for $0.14 to $0.18 each and adhesive magnets for $0.12 each right here on amazon so I could have put together this $9.25 kit for $4.16 if I'd shopped a bit more carefully.

It's great having the extra little pans, I didn't realize I would have to cut the magnetic strip apart myself, my bad for not reading thoroughly, but it's a bit annoying. Not sure you really need to anyway, the pans fit pretty securely in my palette without.

So excited to get these in the mail today!! These smaller pans are the perfect size for the little watercolor tin gifts I'm making for friends and family. You can fit 6 pans into the smalls altoids tin which is awesome for a super tiny, take anywhere kit! Having the self adhesive magnet sheet included is awesome! Just takes a minute to cut into bits to stick on the pans. When I set an empty pan in my tin, it doesn't have that pull of heavier magnets, but I shook the tin and it didn't come off. I also stuck a piece to the bottom of one of my larger size and filled pan and as you can see in the picture, it held onto the tin just fine! :) obviously if it got a real sharp jolt they may come loose and move a small bit, but in the larger tins I'll also have a sponge and waterbrush and pencil and eraser, so it's packed tight. It's a great set :)
