I Keep 2 Kindles going all the time.
I keep 2 Kindles going all the time.I had purchased my last 2 Kindles 2 years ago.I decided it was time to update. I think there were enough updates that it makes sense because updates can at times cause glitches and batteries start to wear down. The screen is much more clear and crisp than my older model and works faster. When you open the cover it starts up much more quickly.I purchased the Signature Edition because I always use a leather case and this edition costs $6.00 more than purchasing the Kindle and cover separately and included the charger. They no longer include a cord for recharge. The newer Kindle has a longer battery life. (Yeah!!)I like the leather case and it fits well and stays shut and does a great job of protecting the screen.By using a good cover my old Kindle always looks like new. No scratches or anything. The charger Is a mystery in design to me. Let's be honest the fewer electronic items we have around the better because who likes all the clutter. It fits well with the Kindle and you would think that the designers could have made it fit to recharge our phone also. Placement in the charger is off about 1/2 inch from my phone. It may work well with a larger phone. I don't know. I just have the average size not extra small or very large like a mini iPad. The charger is an Anker product and I am sure they were asked to make something to work with the Kindle. My phone charger will charge the Kindle.Using the Kindle charger you need to leave the cover open while charging. So now you have the cover hanging out to the side. You don't want anyone doing anything near to bump and knock it off the charger. This is the only complaint I had about the entire purchase of both Kindles. I would make the same purchases again. I just wonder if it was anything anyone had ever thought about while designing. With all of the plugs and chargers we use table top space is something to think about. They no longer give you the option of ads or pay extra and no ads. This was a surprise to me. With a cover I never really paid attention to the ads.I am sure I will get used to the no ads now used and then no longer pay attention to it.I do find the no ad screen looking cluttered. It is a full screen of Pencil bottoms, Ink pens and Typewriter keys filling the entire screen. This is a distraction to me but since it opens so quickly I do not see it for very long.

My favorite birthday gift
I received Kindle bundle as a birthday gift 4 months ago. I was kind of skeptical at first, i love reading and i love flipping through pages , i like the smell of a real book and the fact that typical book paper has small inclusions and texture. But after a couple of weeks , i feel in love with it. This is my most favorite gift. I love reading and I have amazon prime so it is easy to download free books to read. I also linked my kindle with my local library and I can additionally borrow e-books from library. I was able to set settings such as font, lightness of the screen to make reading most comfortable. There is a way to take notes and add comments if needed ( I never used this option tho). An average I need to charge it once or twice a month. My Kindlee bundle was a gift and it came with charging Stan and original cover. I did nit like additional items and I returned it. Cover was hard plastic and not very pleasant to touch, it also was ugly pinky purple color. I purchased different cover online. Charging station was working absolutely great but I found it not very necessary as I have type C charger for my phone and did not want an additional unnecessary item in my house.

It’s a kindle
I get ads, the web browser is worthless. I can’t make it even work well enough to log into Wi-Fi. So download all the books before you leave the house. The touch screen is very touchy, sometimes you have to touch a few times to turn the page other times it turns 3 or 4 pages by just looking at it.

Long Battery Life and Great for Outside Reading
I have always been a loyal Nook user, but many authors are only releasing books through Amazon. When my third Nook began to die, I purchase both a new Nook and my first Kindle. I seriously do not have a favorite. I use Nook and Kindle equally now. I borrow books from local library, and the only option for these ebooks is Kindle. The battery never seems to run down, and I love spending time outside on the deck reading. The Kindle automatically adjusts for the area lighting, and this is a huge bonus for me. Very pleased!

A great reader
I love the signature series bundle. Very handy to have the cover and charger be a part of the overall package. This reader is a big upgrade for me. I was reading from my phone or tablet but this is so much more focused and relaxing. The only knock on the reader is that the navigation is not easy or intuitive. I just finished reading a very long book on this and by the time I did that - I couldn't remember how to navigate to my Library so I could open my next book. The down-swipe should take you to a menu structure that covers everything - but it doesn't. Swipe down and you change the display and device settings and that's it. Tap on the top of the screen and hit Home and it takes you to your library. I couldn't remember that. I would think a single motion should get you access to all of the device management functions.Otherwise - no complaints. I love having a dedicated reader that's so compact.

From 1st paperwhite to this one is amazing
Finally upgraded and love this new one. The weight is really light not hard on the wrist. The settings and options are great. I sort of wish i had got one that had some color but I guess a book doesn't offer that either. I still seem to be reading on my phone. Will take it to the DR in two weeks and hope to enjoy reading in the sunlight with no issue.

In general, a good product, but could be so much better.
My biggest complaint is that there is no apparent way to make illustrations and photos in books dark enough to be actually seen, and my eyesight is pretty good. Darkening the font does nothing, and I cannot find any way at all in any menu to make these better. A minor complaint is that the touch screen is, well, "touchy." It usually works well, but fairly often, will turn multiple pages, or hop backwards even, when I am turning a page. Then I have to try and find where I left off reading. This is while I'm actively reading. Otherwise, this is an excellent product and I've purchased at least six models over the past few years.
