Simply AMAZING!
Wow! What a tool. I am building a home, and decided to do a good chunk of the trim carpentry. Knowing about this technology over 2 years ago(as I call on Senco), I was pleased to find out it was available when it was time for me to purchase a finish nailer. I have every pnuematic gun, except for the finish nailer. I was skeptical at first, but after 8 LONG days of hanging 27 doors, casing all the doors & windows, and putting up base, I'm happy to report the gun is amazing. The idea/technology is pretty simple, and am surprised no one was able to make this before 2010... but, I'm sure there is a lot more to it.Size is good, battery life is good - at first, I wished I had a 2nd battery, but the quick charge feature made me question that. 2 of the 8 days, i ran out of charge(no idea how many nails fired), but a short 15 mins in the charger, and it was enough to finish the day's work. 2 1/2 in nails had no problem hanging doors... it sometimes didn't countersink when firing into some tougher areas of wood, but overall pretty impressive. 2" & 1 1/2" nails had NO PROBLEM countersinking DEEP into everything. Took some time getting used to the nose & it's size/where the nail would actually fire out... but again, just a learning curve(A smaller nose would be nicer, however). The gun saved me lugging my compressor in & out of the house everyday, as well as dragging it and/or airlines all over the home. Easily saved me 3-5 hours, and probably more.I initially thought I would use the gun for building my home, and then selling on Craigslist or something. Now, I'm pretty sure I'll keep it forever. In the past, there have been many times when I'd want to use an air nailer, but didn't want to go to the hassle of getting out the compressor & dragging it to the job. Now, I'll always have this thing... think I'm going to use it a lot more than I had originally thought.Overall, a great tool, at a great price($400).

***Updated 1-24-13*** Works great for me - Battery Replaced!
***Update 1-24-2013*** I called Senco on December 31st about the failed battery reported below. It had just been slightly over 12 months since my purchase of the nail gun on Amazon. Senco said they had a bad batch of batteries and agreed to replace my failed battery with an upgraded and revised design. The new battery has greater capacity and requires a new charger (which Senco sent me for free). I was not charged anything for the replacement battery or charger, but did need to produce a receipt showing purchase of the nail gun. I sent them my e-mail from Amazon. They did not require that I return the old battery. The new battery and charger arrived promptly and the nail gun works great again. I revised my rating back to five stars - Senco proved to me they are a stand up company. Thank you Senco!***Update 12-30-12*** I DID love this gun - but the battery failed prematurely. And Senco wants about $100 for a new one! I revised my rating from 5 stars to 3 stars. BEWARE, batteries can fail early and are expensive to replace. Too bad, because it is a great nail gun, otherwise.****---Original Review---This is my second cordless nail gun. I also have a Paslode cordless framing nailer. The Paslode works great, but there is a smell from the gas combustion. This made me think twice before buying a gas nailer like Paslode's finish nailer - which I figure gets used indoors a fair amount. The smell is not an issue outdoors, but might be indoors. After some research, I tried the Senco Fusion Finish nailer. I got the 15 gauge version. I've shot a few hundred nails at this point, of all sizes from 1-1/4" to 2-1/2". I've tried nails produced by Senco, Hitachi and Bostich. All brands of nails look the same to me and fire perfectly. I've had no misfires. I did notice the 2-1/2" inch nails can wander a bit and when shot near the edge of a piece of wood, and can emerge out the side. I think this is due to the 15 gauge being a little thin for such a long nail. It makes me think I wouldn't want a finish nailer with nails any lighter than 15 gauge. Anyway, watch where you place your hand when you hold the work. I use the nail gun around the house, and not for production work. The Senco battery never let me down ***until the battery failed. Before the battery failure***, the gun kept firing as long as I kept going. Some people complain about the Senco gun not firing if not set on the work at the proper angle. This has happened to me maybe five times out of several hundred nail firings. So not a big deal to me. I reset the gun on the work and it fires. Bottom line, I loved this nail gun!

What I was looking for
I had the Ridgid 15g nailer, but finally gave up on it after just under a year(tired of replacing its worthless batteries)... I didn't want to spend that kind of money again on something worthless or inadequate, so of course I started going through reviews. It came down to the Senco Fusion, but the price scared me - at least for a while. I finally purchased the unit a few months ago and haven't looked back since. It's a lightweight and quite reliable gun. I've only shot less than 1,000 nails through it so far, but never a jamb to this point. The first time I fired a nail, it actually startled me. I wasn't used to the mechanical sound it makes (I thought it had broke).. Was a bit louder and different from all my previous nailers, but so far I've been impressed... Its got power and definately feels like a professional grade product. It's well worth the money if you need a reliable and professional tool... I don't have a second battery yet, which I do need, but it charges quite fast... Oh, and Im still trying to figure out what's so wrong with the case, as a couple of other reviewers had mentioned...
