This brand, the strobe light feature button does remain either on or off, however you had it set if there is a power outage, and you had it on, it will come back on automatically. Other brands, light feature must be re-activated manually if there is a power loss. This product will come back on exactly how it was set prior to outage. That is what I want in the event we are out of town, camping, visiting family. It is also a great feature if you are putting in hard to access area such as attic. It does have option of animal noises with volume control, which you probably would not use in your living room, but could in garage or shed when not in there. These seem to attract mice instead of repel them. Over the two month period I had 18 mice come into my RV. Also, when electric power goes off the led lights don't come back on automatically, you have to push the button to turn led lights back on. Worse thing I've tried so far for mice.
