Not only does my pee smell like i binged on asparagus but my hair is shedding like crazy! Thought it was because i had surgery in January. But ALA absorbs for biotin and vice versa. The supplement itself is good quality but not for me......im going back to my NAC!

I had previously used Nervive as a source of Lipoic Acid. It helped with my peripheral neuropathy. It also had the notable side effect of making my urine smell strongly, like I'd eaten asparagus. That's because both Lipoic Acid and asparagus have sulfur in them. This stuff is supposed to have the same amount of Lipoic Acid (600 mg) BUT my neuropathy pain is returning and there is no urine odor. My conclusion is that this stuff contains much less Lipoic Acid than claimed. Back to Nervive!

I've been using another brand of alpha-lipoc acid, taking the recommended 600mg daily for about 9 months, with relatively good control of my permanent chemo induced neuropathy in my feet. I decided to try this brand, as it was a single capsule, same dose of 600 mg, and slightly better value for the money. Well after nearly 2 months of use, the neuropathy has become worse. It was a gradual change. There is nothing in my life otherwise that would have caused this, for example, no new medications, no changes in my shoe and sockwear, no changes in my activity levels. I'm going to order the original product today and resume taking it, and see if my symptoms improve. It may take several weeks. If the problem is NOT in the change to this product, I will come back to my review and update it.

I have been taking a lower dose Andrew Lessman version of this supplement for neuropathy in my feet and it really worked but to save some money I tried Doctor's Best and boy did I see a quick difference, my symptoms returned within a few days of being on Doctor's Best, so I stopped the Doctor's Best and went back to Lessman and fortunately with Lessman's tried and true version my symptoms improved again quickly. So Doctor's Best is a waste of money for me and I will stick with the true professional Andrew Lessman Pro Cap Labs.

Purchased a bottle for me and my husband. I had taken it for 12 days and started itching. Then I noticed red blotches beginning to form on my skin and it was itching terribly. My husband had only taken it for four days and the same problem began for him. We both stopped taking it, but because I had taken it much longer, I ended up with red spots on both arms, on my right calf muscle, right wrist, neck and left shoulder, ankle, knees and one thigh.It was so severe that I had to visit an urgent care center and get a script for a steroid to stop the inflammation and help the infection leave my body. It had seemed to be working and helping with blood sugar spikes, but it was NOT worth what I am currently dealing with.Sadly and itchy I must say, I wouldn’t buy it. However, if you do, buy at your own risk.

The Alpha Lipoic Acid capsules should have contained powder, but they adhered to each other and to the cotton in the bottle. They all look like they contain solidified yellow gelatin. I repeatedly tried to get an exchange or refund but could not get past the problem description as it took me back to the beginning of the return process.

I don't know what the specific problem was, but every time I took it, I threw up. I tried taking on an empty stomach and after I ate. It felt as though it was "fizzing" up in the back of my throat and I would gag. Not pleasant.

The bottom pill is what I normally get buying Doctor's Best Alpha-Lipoic Acid 600 local and the top pill is what I received ordering from here. it was sealed but does not look like the same supplement. Amazon says It is non returnable so I just wasted money trying to save money by buying on amazon.
