Fun Toy!
I purchased this for my daughter and she LOVES it! The lighting is a little dim if the room is too bright, but it works well for her. She is 4 years old and she was able to easily figure out where to place the pegs. The storage box is great because it can snap to the side of the screen. would make a great nice gift for someone!

Great lite brite and value but...
I love this and kid plays with it. I like how they changes the light back part from the past and upgraded from black paper to a cut back rubbery place for the lights. I like the different shapes of the pegs. I dont like how they dont give as many of the pegs. It comes with a few preprinted designs- 5 I think I wished there were more of the older styles single pegs and more preprinted designs. Overall great buy for light brite my little pony

Fun toy!
My 3 year granddaughter likes to come over and loves to play with this. It says for ages 4+ but we work on it together. She has always had really good fine motor skills so she can easily put the pegs in the holes. It camels with templates with designs but those are a little advanced for her. She just enjoys putting the pegs in the holes randomly and lighting up the screen. It’s bright enough. Not as bright as the old Lite-Brites my children had, but those had to be plugged in. This one uses batteries.

Decent Knock Off Lite Brite, Peg Shapes Are OK
When I was a kid, I had the original Lite-Brite, so I wanted to get my 6 year old something similar. After reading many reviews, I settled on this one. It's made of cheap plastic, not sturdy like the old Lite-Brites. It's very easy to operate, you just press the power button and I like that it can light up solid or flashing lights. It comes with lots of pegs in different colors and shapes. I prefer only the round pegs because when you go to use the square or curved pegs, it sometimes distorts the picture when you are trying to create your own design. I did like the storage case so you can keep all the pegs together. The set comes with 4 design sheets and tells you what colors to use. You can reuse the sheets even after you poke holes with the pegs in it. Overall, it's fun for my daughter, but definitely falls short of the original Lite-Brite in terms of quality.

Kickin it ol school
Bought this lite brite for my 5 year old for Christmas to introduce her to something mom used to play with as a kid. She played with it for so long and had so much fun!!! A definite win!!

Much improved since the 80's version!
Our almost 3yo LOVES this! It is such a huge improvement over the lite-brites when I was little. Much smaller; battery-operated (don't forget to grab some of those and a screw driver); has a container attached that holds all the pieces (this is probably my favorite part). Also, there is a black foam layer behind the holes that "closes" when you take a peg out and makes the opening mostly black, so that you don't have to have black construction paper on top for the design to show up clearly (if you're anywhere around my age, you'll probably understand what I mean, but it's hard to describe). Very best improvement though? Has to be that there are now a handful of differently shaped pieces, instead of all being round pegs. Brilliant! Why in the world didn't they do that when I was little?

It's ok
So this isn't like a regular light Brite where all the pegs are individual pieces. There are some but a lot are either double pieces, or other connected pieces that you can only use in certain spots if you want to use the templates. My daughter is a little over 4 1/2 and I played with it with her a few times and I got frustrated and tired of it myself. The pegs are easy to insert and the case to hold them connected to the side is nice as well. I just wish they were all individual pieces so you could get more creative.

Cute toy
Love this portable My lil Pony lite Brite set! Love that there is a lil box to keep the pegs in,. I wish there would have been maybe somewhere to store the stencil papers though. My granddaughter loves it!

The light in this unit could be a lot stronger... can barely even tell it works after battery installation.

Not so: it didn't light, the pegs and peg box were simply missing, and it smelled musty. What a waste of time and energy having it shipped here and sent back immediately.
