See the Mfg site, There are severail different manuals, version, 3.0, 2.1, 2.0, and 1.0 you will need to see the differences in the instructions to switch between Lbs, and Kg. http://www.awscales.com/component/content/article/53-aws-products/158-sr-5-digital-hanging-scale **Q: Has AWS modified the SR-5 so the hold feature can be disabled?** A: According to a comment on a review below you can disable the hold feature. Open the battery compartment and there is an on/off switch. Flip the switch and it disables the hold function. Hope that helps, but I did not give the answer..sara pap did. **Q: Does this stop weighing after a few seconds, meaning can't add more it to get a certain weight?** A: The SR-5 Digital Hanging Scale features two operating modes: Basic and Advanced. To change the operating mode, flip the toggle switch inside the battery compartment up or down. In Basic Mode, the weight locks on the display when stable and the scale turns off after 60 seconds of inactivity. In Advanced Mode, the weight does not lock when stable and the scale will remain on until powered off manually **Q: does this scale read in 1g increments?** A: I believe this one reads out increments of 5g. It has a 5kilo capacity. I have another model, the grey one, with a lower total capacity, 1kilo and it reads out in 1g increments. https://www.amazon.com/AWS-1000-Digital-Hanging-Scale/dp/B007W69XOY?ref_=ast_sto_dp ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐ Useless *by Z***D on Reviewed in India on 13 January 2020* Not fit for Indian customer ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ It measures in LBS as default!!! *by M***S on Reviewed in the United States on 4 June 2019* Man, when you got a fish on and you get it into the boat, the last thing I think of is "you know I wanna measure this in kg just so later I can actually figure out the weight of this fish" I wanna know the the poundage of the beast I just caught is (you know it would be a solid 1.2lb!) so if you want a quick and easy scale to use that is not only build well, but is fast responding and accurate. This is your scale. Love the fact it is fairly small too where i can fit it in my pocket. ### ⭐⭐⭐ it's like a digital bathroom scale that takes a measurement then ... *by P***T on Reviewed in Canada on 26 May 2015* doesn't provide realtime reading, it's like a digital bathroom scale that takes a measurement then locks the readout. this is fine for some applications but not for weighing something that is deliberately changing ## Frequently Bought Together - Industrial Precision Digital Hanging Scale, LCD Screen, Digital Weigh Scale Yellow, 11lb (AMW-SR-5) - American Weigh Scales - American Weigh Scales Calibration Weight for AWS Digital Scale, Carbon Steel, Chrome Finish, 50G (50WGT) - Fuzion Calibration Weights 60g Total, M1 Class 1g 2g 5g 10g 20g Stainless Steel Scale Calibration Weight Kit, Calibration Weight with Storage Box, Tweezers for Digital Scale Gram Scale Balance --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.jp/products/359488071-american-weigh-scales-industrial-precision-digital-hanging-scale-yellow-11lb](https://www.desertcart.jp/products/359488071-american-weigh-scales-industrial-precision-digital-hanging-scale-yellow-11lb) --- *Product available on Desertcart Japan* *Store origin: JP* *Last updated: 2026-10-23*
