I am a bit confused here. The label for this 400 mcg product lists (100% elemental as 800 mcg....).Is this EQUIVALENT to 800 mcg of folic acid?

I take the label description of "...supplies the B vitamin folate as 6S-5-methyltetrahydrofolic acid (MTHF). This is the body's most fully active folate nutrient, its most important folate reservoir, and the only folate form biochemically identical to the MTHF present in the body.1,2 This supplement features Quatrefolic®, human-identical MTHF, as a glucosamine salt. This next-generation supplement guarantees the intricate MTHF structure with improved stability over the earlier-generation calcium salt of MTHF." to mean that the vitamin B (MTHF-form) is provided at a 400 microgram amount, but that the total amount of the  entire molecule as a "glucosamine salt" of this form of vitamin B is 800 micrograms per capsule.  I take these capsules to obtain the 400 micrograms per day of folate recommended by my doctor.

Are you sure this is folate, not folic acid? As far as I know, folate is much more expensive. This one is so cheap, making me think it is folic acid.

This is Folic Acid. If you look at the the label, it shows the name is 5-Methyltetrahydrofolic acid (aka, folic acid in the name), if you look at other, yes more expensive options for folate, you see 5-Methylfolate. I'm not too sure why synthetic seems to be sold as real but it is not. Be careful!

Contains Vitamin C (as ascorbic acid) 40mg, Folate [from Quatrefolic, (6S)-5-Methyltetrahydrofolic acid, glucosamine salt] 400 mcg, Microcrystalline cellulose, modified cellulose (vegetarian capsule).   Soy is not listed as an ingredient.  You can verify this with the manufacturer at 800-777-2474 or www. drvitamins.com.
