Good amount of glycine per capsule and does seem to be helpful depending on your need
I picked up this Glycine supplement as reading indicated it could be helpful for sleep issues. I also read that it is recommended for men prior to having any prostrate problems so thought I would give it a try. While I can't say it promotes greatly improved sleep, I have noticed that any nightime trips to the bathroom are done faster and I do get back to sleep more quickly than in the past. At this time I'm only taking 1000mg dose half hour before bedtime even though I've seen up to 3000mg dosage is frequently recommended. I haven't paid much attention to any other benefit that glycine may be providing so can't speak to those. I do believe it has been helpful and I'll continue using it. Checking around for other options there are some lower cost choices; however I have rarely had any problems with NOW supplements so I'd certainly recommend giving it a try to see if may help with your problem. For now I do believe it is helpful and will certainly buy again when this bottle runs out.

Monster-sized, but Definitely Helps with Sleep
Big fan of NOW brandโspecifically because they are the only brand I trust buying online anywhere. They have a proprietary cap design (I think) that definitely helps with the trust factor. Hard to fake. Bought this to help with a crippling insomnia issue going on for at least half a decade. Perimenopause is an angry B. So am I, without sleepโespecially when I miss work. Finally decided to try the very last thing suggested to me, and it has definitely helped! Has it solved my issue? โ-NOPE. But this is absolutely necessary in my arsenal now. I donโt dare do without it, so I keep it in stock always. All those people swearing by it are seriously on to something. Listen to them. Try it. Tried to get it cheaper here with another brand, in a larger quantity (good reviews and all), and I ended up losing even more time from work. Orange and white label. Never again. This one works, every single time. Every bottle. I canโt believe I am talking about this, but it needs to be said. Never once cared about the size of any pill, and I have quite frankly rolled my eyes at the MANY, MANY reviews containing that information here. I would like to apologize for that. I officially understand you. These are enormous. Never felt insecure about swallowing anything really, until I started taking these pills. Way too long AND girthy. Honestly, I feel like I should be getting paid to take these, not the other way around. And I am given to consuming a whole compartment of pills at once. Not one or two, but gobs. One of these actually scares me. So I have no choice but to take it one at a time, with some trepidation. Still worth it. It is helping me to stay asleep. But good to know ahead of time for anyone even remotely sensitive to pill size. I mean this one is a bit taxing. For real.

In the battle for a good night's sleep, this is a winner!
This is working really well for me. I'm taking 2 or 3 at bedtime along with a capsule of GABA, also the Now brand, and in the last couple of weeks I've often slept 7 hours straight through, which has been extremely difficult to do for several years. If I do wake up after 5-6 hours and want to sleep longer, I've been able to go right back to sleep. A sleep mask is essential since my room can't be darkened, and I often switch on my white noise machine, set to ocean waves, and I'm out in just a few minutes. I've tried other things that have helped, both herbs and supplements, but I keep trying new things to see what they'll do for me. Since glycine is just an amino acid, it seems very safe to me. The price is right, too! If you're interested in other things to try, here's what has helped in the past (some I currently use or may use again): > Magnesium (Essential for hundreds of processes in your body, most of us are deficient, and it's very helpful for relaxing at bedtime--I've used it for years. The "Got Mag" website recommends 5x your bodyweight in milligrams daily, and also gives advice for the types most helpful and easily absorbed.) > Vitamin D3 plus K2 for absorption (I take 5,000-10,000 IU of D3 per day, in the morning to mimic sunlight. Be careful--it can keep you up if you take it too late in the day.) > Lavender oil (dab some on your wrists and put your hands near your face) > Valerian, or a valerian/hops/chamomile combo > Some homeopathic formulas have been helpful in the past, but they don't seem to do much now > 5-HTP > Tryptophan > GABA > Melatonin (Can be tricky--used to work great, but now seems to have the opposite effect on me if I use it for several days in a row. Some of the products above are precursors to melanonin and I've read that your body converts them to as much as you need--so maybe that's why they work better for me.) > A spoonful of honey before bed (Google it...I still do this most nights) > The adrenal cocktail (Google it...it worked for a while, but my cortisol tends to be too high and I think it works better for those with low cortisol) Since my window shades let in too much street light, I always use a sleep mask, turn the thermostat down to stay cool, and am trying to restrict use of electronics before bed (screens send a blast of blue light into your eyes/brain). I have f.lux (a free program installed on my PC) and that helps, but really you're supposed to avoid all electronics or bright lights for at least an hour before bed. Some wear blue-blocking glasses in the evening. Other things that would help, but which I usually can't do, are getting sunshine, a bit of exercise, and barefoot walking in the early part of the day. Going to bed the moment you get sleepy is very important, but I'm still working on this. If I push through that initial sleepiness because it's "too early," as I too often do, I get a "second wind" (which I now know is a surge of cortisol) and then it may be hours before I get sleepy again. Then I also wake up too early, and it's a vicious cycle. This is all related to stressed adrenal glands/poor adrenal function, and you can learn more by reading Dr. Wilson's book http://www.amazon.com/Adrenal-Fatigue-Century-Stress-Syndrome/dp/1890572152/ or Dr. Christianson's book http://www.amazon.com/Adrenal-Reset-Diet-Strategically-Proteins/dp/0804140537/ or just searching online for information. The quiz at [...] is a good start. Sweet dreams!

The only things getting me into bed tonight :)
Iโve been in a committed three-way relationship with NOW Foods Glycine (1,000 mg) and my Magnesium for 3 months now, and honestly? Itโs the most satisfying action Iโve had in years. โI take this "double-team" combo about 3 hours before bed, and by the time I hit the sheets, Iโm ready to be absolutely dominated... by REM sleep. It only took about a week for me to start feeling the difference, and now my brain finally knows how to shut up and take it. โBefore this, my nighttime routine was just me, my ceiling fan, and a crippling sense of existential dread. Now? Iโm out cold. If youโre looking for something thatโll make you go limp and leave you breathless (because youโre snoring, obviously), this is the stack for you. โPros: โ1,000 mg of pure, unadulterated relaxation. โPairs with Magnesium better than bad decisions and a 2:00 AM text.

A simple addition to my wellness routine
Glycine is an amino acid that plays a role in many important functions in the body, including supporting healthy neurotransmitter activity, relaxation, and overall wellness. I appreciate having a simple, clean formula that makes it easy to add glycine support without unnecessary ingredients. The capsules are easy to take, and the 1,000 mg serving provides a convenient amount in each capsule. I also like that NOW Foods has a strong reputation for quality supplements and that this product is made with a straightforward ingredient list. The bottle contains a generous supply, making it a good value for regular use. If you're looking for a reliable glycine supplement to support your wellness routine, this is a great option from a trusted brand. I would definitely purchase it again.

now glycine 1000mg
Glycine along with a magnesium has done the trick of relaxation and putting us to sleep. This brand appears to be good but unfortunately it is not 3rd party tested. I bought because of the price and the dose of 1 capsule vs the usualy 2-3 capsules. We are happy it worked out. Sweet Dreams!

My Brain Sent a Thank-You Note
I started taking glycine because I kept hearing good things about it. I wasn't expecting much, but now it's part of my daily routine. The capsules are easy to swallow, the quality is exactly what I've come to expect from NOW Foods, and the bottle lasts a long time. The best part is that I wake up feeling like my brain actually showed up for work instead of hitting the snooze button five times. NOW Foods has yet to disappoint me with their supplements, and this one is another winner. Five stars from me. My pillow also asked me to pass along its appreciation.
