Q: we are used to the individual packets- how many mix-with-1-lb-meat meals does it make?

The directions say 1/3 cup seasoning for 1 lbs of meat. Since there are 24 oz. in the bottle, there should be at least 9 meals. I cannot say for certain as I make larger and different sized meals. Check the wt on an individual packet. Also the label says that there are 113 - 1 T. servings in the bottle.

Q: Is this $12.56 (on 3/14/16) for only ONE 24oz container?

Correct. That was the current price at that time and this listing is for a single bottle of 24oz (which by the way is a pound and a half of taco seasoning! )

Q: is this product gluten free?

The product is not "certified" Gluten Free, but the ingredient list is clean from a gluten perspective. (My wife is Gluten sensitive and has eaten this with no issue for over a year) Here are the ingredients: Yellow corn flour, maltodextrin, salt, paprika, spices, modified cornstarch, ancho chili extract, onion powder, caramel color, silicon dioxide.
