Seed Needs Orange Butterfly Milkweed Seeds for Monarch Butterflies 2 Packs

Nearly every seed I planted came up! I am in zone 8a South Carolina and really wanted to add milkweed to my flower garden. Couldn't find seeds or plants locally and took a chance on these. Very happy with the seeds and excited to have milkweed growing this year!

I believe these flowers are a powerhouse for local plants and insects alike. These have made a great addition to my local wild flower garden I have started with beautiful bright flowers attracting bees and butterflies all summer long. There are TONS of seeds in these packets so you can really spread out where you'd like to plant them.

I have ordered seed from this dealer in the past. successful germination in all cases.

Got them to sprout in my greenhouse but germination rate is less than I expected.

I bought 500 of these seeds and started them indoors in March under a light. I took them outside in April once they were already a couple inches tall and put them in individual cups to give them more room to grow, and in May I put them into their permanent spot in the ground. I had more than I needed for myself so I gave away about 100 healthy plants and planted around 100 other healthy plants in the wild around places I like to camp and fish and they’re doing great out there as well. I wasn’t expecting to see any flowers on them this year. It’s late August now and in nearly every location I planted them at least some are flowering, and each year the flowers should become more plentiful! I’ve also saw several hummingbirds and butterflies on these plants so I know they’re loving them as much as me

Not one seed germinated. Very disappointed. I’ve grown multiple vegetables and flowers from seed, this year, but these milkweed were a total flop.

I stopped buy seeds on amazon long ago because they were always junk that never germinated. But I saw these and decided to take a chance because I really wanted to attract some butterflies. Glad that I did. I got 85% germination even with no cold stratification. It is said that it takes up to 3 years before they will flower but at least two of my plants have buds in this first season. So we'll see if they develop flowers and pods. My only negative is there has been a lot of variability in the vigor of the seedlings. Some just whithered away while others grew very robustly. But maybe I'm just not a very good gardener!!!
