I Am Please With This New Clothesline
This is so much better than the OEM clothesline in my RV shower. The old one used string and did not lock like this one, which made it sag with the slightest weight. The stainless steel is strong, locks in place, and looks good doing it. I had trouble figuring out how to remove the old unit which did not have a set screw. After much deliberation, I just started to pry on the bell part until it popped off. It was as simple as that. I did have to change the new supplied bracket, mostly bc the new line does have a set screw and the bracket needed a hole for that screw to fasten to. The swap was easily accomplished by removing two screws and using the same two screws for the new bracket. The only change I had to make was to install it up-side-down bc, I had no room to use a driver from the top. No big deal, not even noticeable unless you look at the label on the unit.

Retractable Clothes Line
Nice functional clothes line but open and close the line slowly as it has some tension if you just unlock and let it go. Great size for most laundry rooms. Retractable but as mentioned follow the directions.

OK for a minimal amount
The plastic anchors cannot withstand the pressure from the string pull. The string itself does not get "quite" taught and starts to sag (we hang 3 hangers on it - 2 shirts and 1 dress) Within minutes the anchor started coming out from the wall (on the side where the wire gets "clipped" to, not the "housing side"), it does look like the screw provided is too short and too thin to adequately split the anchor on the other side. I had to remove the anchor (actually took out both for a good measure) and replace them with the ones from my own stock (much longer screw that "pulls" the back of the anchor toward the wall and flattens against it instead of simply separating at the end). Put a dab of Liquid Nails into the drilled holes as well. Let is sit for 2 days undisturbed.... So far it hold but the string still sags a bit and we only hung 2 things on it... I guess the contraption is OK for a minimal amount but would not attempt to hang 5+ items on it. (BTW did it in the bathroom for the length of standard bathtub,so its not like there is 2- ft of wire hanging out)

Steel line frayed, will not retract.
I purchased this product October of 2023. The product lasted approximately 2 years to the date. Started having difficulty retracting the line almost immediately until finally the steel line wore out/frayed in a small section that ultimately prevented the line from retracting completely. Maybe used the line every other week. In my opinion, nylon might work better.

Great item for use in a travel trailer.
I installed this in our travel trailer shower to hang wet towels and wash cloths on. It gets used also for wet clothing as needed. Simple to install, and easy to use. Holding up very well to the use we put it to.
