Great item and remote is terrific

review is for NexiGo N940P 2K Zoomable Webcam with Remote and Software Controls. Couple of points i failed to note in the decsription which are critical although not for what I needed. The camera will not do 3x zoom at 2K it will only zoom if you have set the resolution low enough so that the sensor can zoom!!! So even at the highest 1080p 30fs you can use zoom you don't get 3x zoom (ok it was in the dsecription!!). Then for a £90 camera at full price the lens cover is absolutely RUBBISH its a stick on cheap thing (ok they give you 2). This I think is the cause of people saying the remote doesn't work. If you fit it so that the cover doesn't obscure the active light then it covers the invisible remote sensor. SO you can either have the light or the remote. I canabalised my old webcam cover so it flips down; really how much would it have cost to do this vaguely properly. The camera itself seems great and remote works well. Solved my problem of a too wide angle lens and now people have to look at me closely. Not good for them!

I am very happy with this. I would recommend it. (just remember to slide the lens cap off the camera, I thought it was not working to start with, but that is a user error)

This is a great webcam, the only down side is the privacy shutter which is a stick on shutter. When this put on thr camera and is open it obsequious one of the webcam sensors. This wasn't a problem for me, I just don't fit it.

Temperamental. Sometimes connects first time but not always. Very nasty security lens cover. Might as well use tape! Hoping for more usable zoom and pan and tilt. Usable but ultimately disappointed.

The camera video quality is very good indeed, but the selling point to me was the ability to zoom in the picture with the remote and move it so you could be in the centre of the screen. Brilliant!

Despite spending many hours trying it simply would not work with Windows 11

The Nexigo N9440P webcam is a great option for those in the market for a high-resolution webcam at an affordable price. I have been using the webcam for about 2 weeks mainly with a desktop computer running Windows 10 and a higher end gpu. I also tested this on a Dell 12in XPS running Windows 11. The installation process was straightforward and the inclusion of a tripod screw made it easy to mount the webcam on a tripod or Gorillapod. The USB cord provided was long enough to accommodate placing the webcam on a 32-inch monitor and it could easily be plugged into a machine on the floor. The software for the webcam was easy to find through a quick web search and was simple to install on both Windows 10 and 11. The user interface is clear and straightforward, and the ability to save presets was a nice added feature. The webcam performed well with the popular video conferencing platforms such as Google Meet, Teams, and Zoom, with the only issue being a slight cropping in Zoom that could be adjusted with the Nexigo software. The webcam supports resolutions up to 2K but I found that 1920x1080 at 60fps worked the smoothest. While the resolution goes up to 2560x1440, you only get 60fps at 1920x1090. The picture quality was pretty grainy, especially in the shadows, on both my desktop and laptop, but was still much better than the built-in camera on my Dell laptop. The mic on the Nexigo N9440P was clear and there was no background noise. However, it did sound tinny compared to a dedicated mic like the Yeti Blue, but again for the money it works totally fine. The auto-focus worked great and was able to quickly change focus when placing a printed image close to the lens. Some people may not like the security patch that you have to stick on, but I appreciated the option of not having it and it looked fine once it was on. I did have to re-do it as I had the sliding piece cover the in-use indicator light when it was open. In conclusion, the Nexigo N9440P webcam is a great option for those looking for an affordable webcam with higher resolutions. The installation process is easy, the software is simple to use, and it performs well with popular video conferencing platforms. The picture quality is not the best but still better than my laptop in-built camera and the mic is clear. The auto-focus is great, the security patch is a nice added feature. Overall, I would recommend this webcam as a good value for the price.
