PEARL IZUMI mens Select Liner Shorts

Shorts and gloves are the most important articles of cycling clothing. After all, these come in direct contact with the bike. Pearl Izumi shorts and gloves are my go-tos. These shorts did not disappoint. The fit is exactly per their sizing chart and the chamois (synthetic) has exactly the right amount of padding. These shorts work perfectly under I padded winter tights as well as casual walking shorts during warm weather .

I've worn Pearl Izumi cycling kit for decades now. The company just seems to have a knack for sizing that seems to fit larger riders (that would be me 6-3, 230). I doubt liner shorts will be your be your go to garment for long rides on a road bike, but for many other rides, where do don't feel like strapping on the spandex, these shorts might be a perfect choice. The padding is just a bit thicker than I would like for liner shorts, but still very comfortable and most newer riders will appreciate the extra padding. When worn under normal shorts the liners are not overly noticeable. The overall material feel is excellent with just the right amount of stretch and a high degree of breathability. Many other liner shorts seem too heavy, more like cutdown versions of regular shorts. The Pearl's are much lighter. I ordered the 2XL and they are just a bit loose, which matches my preferences perfectly. Lastly, I was shocked at the pricing for these shorts. I am used to Pearl Izumi being a slightly pricier selection. I immediately hit the reorder button after a ride in the first pair of short; the value is just too good.red two more pair of shorts after receiving my first pair.

I bought these to replace a clapped out pair of 3 year old liner shorts. Went for a short ride with my son tonight and I'm very happy with the initial performance and comfort. I was initially worried since the padding appears to be very thin. However, they are very comfortable and they don't bunch up around the crotch. There's plenty of padding around the sit bones. The shorts are very light, breathable, and will be great during the hot months of summer. I'm considering buying another pair. Great liners for the price.
