This is my third 36G gas valve purchased for three different HVAC units. Two Goodmans (package and attic furnace) and one American Standard package. This valve was a direct replacement for all three having the older, now discontinued Gemini (White-Rodgers) 36G22Y-Type 202. If using Natural Gas, it required no adjustment to the regulator for optimum function. However, if you're installing the optional propane conversion kit (sold separately), you should likely plan for adjustment and have the right tools at your disposal - a pressure gauge capable of testing WC (water column). For reference, I've previously used a fairly cheap RUPSE Hand-held HT-1890 with success. Pro-tip: don't use teflon tape on the manifold or gas pipe threads used to attach into gas valve. These will eventually fray and could potentially clog your valve or gas manifold orifices. Use a goop or sealant for any gas related work. I recommend Rectorseal No.5, the yellow stuff.

I replaced my gas valve with this one hoping that was the problem. It was not and I ended up solving the problem by replacing the circuit board (also off Amazon). But, the old valve was 20 years old and might have been the next thing to go anyway, so it is probably a good thing to have a new one in there. Easy to install and works great.

No conversion kit in box. Therefor this is ONLY for natural gas. Have tried to contact seller. So far ( two days) , no response.

The electromagnetic coil of the valve is not responding when applying 24VAC. Negligent assembly. Most likely it has never been tested on bench before selling.
