RSVP - Stainless Steel Mesh Tea & Cooking Infuser - 2 Pack

So far I've only used this for brewing looseleaf teas, but the intention was to use it as a spicetrap for soups, etc as I can't digest actual herbs, seeds, skins, etc.The mesh will leak tea leaves, so fill, secure, and then gently shake the bulb to get anything loose out, or you'll have sediment in your tea. I can only assume the same applies for herbs.Cleaning is easy, if you do it immediately after use, just dump and rinse.The chain is quite long, much longer than needed for my teapot, and I find it gets really hot when steeping tea (naturally) so handling is troublesome, but I imagine that's just me needing to learn a better method. Having too short a chain on a larger pot would be worse, I suppose, so I'll say YMMV on this.

This order was actually our second order of these infusers. They work great for our purpose. The shipping notification indicated that the product was to have arrived at the minimum estimated time but there was a 4 day lag between when USPS said that they had accepted packaging for shipping and when they again said they had the package for shipping. More an annoyance than a problem since it made it by the max shipping estimate but it charged my card at the initial supposed drop-off rather when it actually started on its journey.

Fits my teapot well and is a great material. Getting chain out of pot a little difficult, but it gets the job done.

It does let some material through the seams, especially very fine tea such as rooibos. The amount it lets through is not at all bothersome however.Overall though, it works amazing and as expected. One of the best actually stainless steels i've had thus far. And it it large enough to handle as much tea as I want. It being large also means you need an appropriate container to use it with. The part where the chain attaches to can be bent so as to make it slightly less 'wide'.

I bought these to use in our hot pot. When we cook hot pot we have tons of chilis that come in the packages and chopped garlic. Those clog the broth so much that soon you have a bowl of chilis and garlic. A friend bought us one of these and we found it worked great containing everything that I bought three more. Now, we let the soup broth cook with the strainers in and once we go to eat, we remove them and voila!, fantastic hot pot eating ensues. Highly recommended!

Love that I can make loose leaf tea in a slightly larger amount than with regular sized tea balls. The small stationary piece of metal that attaches the two sides seems a little flimsy compared to the one my mother has. I've used it 3 times already and really like it. Just hope it can hold up ok. I have washed it on the top shelf of the dishwasher. It did well.

I use it for soup. I put all my spices in there and it takes a lot... then simply remove it when my soup is done... I love it

I use these to cold brew ice tea by the gallon. For black and green teas, they do hold enough tea leaves. For herbal blends, it really depends on the tea, but it still does well enough for most of them.
