Women's blow dryer require more than 1000W to operate with heat on. The good ones are on the 2000W range. Once you start blowing with heat you will eventually burn the fuse. You have to use a step up transformer with the appropriate rating. Unfortunately, any step up transformer of 1000W and above I have seen are massive (like 10lbs). By chance I have one 1000W and another 1500W. I use the second for my European expresso machine and works fine. I tried one 1850W blow dryer on both and the difference is noticeable and even in the big one it is not like it used to be in Singapore @ 220V outlet. Bottom line: It is cheaper and easier to have a second 110V blow dryer. **Q: Will it work for my air purifier? this is written on the plug: 120v ac 60hz 55w** A: If your air purifier input 120V AC then you don't need this transformer if using here in the US but if you using outside US with 220v~ input voltage then u can used this Xmer by setting the correct slider switch input voltage?
