Great solution for living with weather in the Pacific Northwest. Only recommendation would be to stiffen up the crown (double up the fabric maybe?) to help it keep shape in heavy rain/snow.3 year updateStill holding up well. Ran into a problem last winter in our typical Pacific NW 9 month "drizzle" with leakage at the hat band seams, but a brown crayon applied to the seams and 10 minutes in a warm oven sealed them up again. I suppose you could spring for a can of silicone waterproofing spray, but "old school" works just fine.

I finally got to wear this hat in the rain and it performed wonderfully. I was concerned that the drawstring holes in the brim would allow rain to run down the drawstrings but it didn't seem to. Nice, wide brim kept me dry.

Awesome hat, very water proof/resistant. Only bad thing is my head is 24inches around and the XXL is a bit tight, although the wind has a hard time blowing off bc of that.

Decent hat for canoeing. Relatively thin fabric doesn't have much shape, but will keep the rain off you on the river.

Nice hat. Disappointed a 2x fit so tight. Had to pay shipping on the return as well.
