4/20/26 Update: One of the dehumidifiers started leaking - badly. I woke up one morning and my floor was covered in water as it never shut off when it got full, and I tried for over a week to figure out the problem myself. I finally took off the back and the coils would ice over within 5 mins - so I knew it was beyond a DIY repair. Contacted HOGARLABS and was told they had a 2 year warranty (I purchased Sept 2024) and they sent me a detailed list of some photos and videos they needed. I sent it all over to them and without hesitation they replaced with a brand new unit! Shipped to my new house at no cost to me. The customer service was friendly, fast and super helpful. For this thing alone - I'm a customer for life with them. The other one is still pumping great at 18 months in, and the new one works like a charm.-------------------------------------------------------------------I did a ton of research before deciding on this dehumidifier, and I’m so glad I chose this one! From the moment I set it up, it has worked flawlessly. I followed the recommendation to let it sit before turning it on, and setup was incredibly easy. I opted to use the drain option, which makes maintenance effortless—no need to constantly empty the water tank.I have two of these units covering a 2,200 sq. ft. area, and they perform amazingly well. They pull moisture from the air quickly, making the space feel much more comfortable. The difference in humidity levels is noticeable, and the air quality has improved significantly.One of the best features is how quiet it is. Even though it’s running efficiently in the background, it doesn’t create much noise, which is a huge plus. UPDATE: It dawned in me to check the warranty, though I wasn't hopeful that would go well. The unit has a 2 year warranty, and I was about 1.5 years in. It took about a day between each communication, but communication was happening! They sent a replacement unit after I provided the requested info (proof of purchase, and a couple videos of unit) . Unfortunately, that unit came damaged so I thought the worst, but again contacted them. They apologized profusely and got another one out right away. It arrived quickly and was up in running in no time, function as designed. So, of you have an issue, know that their costumer service actually exists and will work to take care of you.Worked great... for 1 summer. Doesn't seem to be doing anything anymore. Drain hose is bone dry with 65% humidity in the house, despite the unit being set to 50%. The fan is blowing, but no dehumidification taking place.

This dehumidifier works incredibly well! It quickly pulls moisture out of the air and keeps my basement feeling fresh and dry. Hogarlabs ignores you when you ask for warranty service. My dehumidifier was wonderful while it worked, but after one full year of use, it barely did anything anymore, except suck up electricity, trying to pull moisture from the air. Its compressor turns on, but does a quarter of the job it used to, and stays on constantly trying to reach 60% humidity. I have contacted Hogarlabs four times, once directly through their website, and three times from my email account to their "support" address. They have completely ignored me for two weeks now, even though my dehumidifier is still within its two-year warranty period. Since they ignore me, I urge everyone to ignore them and not purchase from a company that does not fulfill its warranty. Never again.

I really like this dehumidifier, it is used in my attached garage, which is now used for storing items, and wire shelves with extra clothes, cleaning supplies, shoes, and totes with blankets and pillows, and a lot of other things, this dehumidifier does a great job of keeping the area dry, it used to have moisture issues on the areas near the outside walls , that is no longer a issue since o started using this dehumidifier, it has been running nonstop for almost 2 months now, and I empty water out of the removable reservoir every day , it also came with a short hose if I wanted to hook into a nearby drain, but I find it easier to keep the water tank empty by hand. I will definitely buy another one of this if this one quit working

We owned two of these and we bought a third as "backup" while it was on sale because we like them so much. They are incredibly quiet and do a great job. The only negative is that the water tank is very small, so if you have it in a humid environment, you'll be emptying it a lot. That said, we've had a couple of other units that had large tanks and good ratings, but they were much, much louder. The other units were so loud , it made watching television unbearable. These hum away in the background at a level that could actually be considered pleasant background noise. Our solution for the small tanks- we use the included tube to drain to a 2 gallon bucket that tucks behind the unit.

I have had this HOGARLABS 50 Pint Dehumidifier for 6 months now and have used it off and on.Pros: It is very efficient at dropping the humidity fast.The collection tank is nice sized and easy to remove and drain.Has an output port to bypass the collection tank and send the condensation to a drain or very largebucket instead. [Drain is the best option in which case the unit must be ABOVE the drain so that thewater is drained downward.]It has a LOW and HIGH setting, the ability to set a target humidity [I use 55 if it's really humid]and a timer option to shutdown after a set timeIt has caster wheels which are great on smooth floors or low pile carpets.Cons: Have none so farI would recommend this product as it is a good brand name and a well made unit. It has good weight hence the wheels. [Tip: You can use a smart socket to turn it on remotely or setup a routine. This works because when the unit is on and the power is cut - it returns to the last setting when it is powered on again.]

Reçus très rapidement, Ne fait pas beaucoup de bruit comparativement à l'ancien. Je l'ai installé dans la salle mécanique de la maison. il déshumidifie toute la maison et le sous sol. Belle petite machine. J'ai raccordé le tuyaux à mon renvoie d'égout fait exprès. Sinon la bassine est vraiment trop petite.

Our old one died after 18 years and sadly that company is no longer available. After some research, this brand of dehumidifiers came up many times as one of the best. It has been almost 3 weeks and so far it is much quieter than our old one, and has been working great! It is very easy to use the electronic settings. The only draw back is the tank to hold the water is very small. I empty the dehumidifier 3 times a day. Our old one had a huge holding tank and I only emptied it once every 2 days. I would give 5 stars if I didnt have to empty it so often. I HIGHLY recommend going up one more size/power than you think you need! Our basement is 1500 sq ft. In theory, 34 pint should be good. I bought the 50 pint as that is what we had before. Even the 50 pint dehumidifier has not sufficiently kept up to our basement in the humid hot summer. It has not been able to hit the target of 55%. (It has not even been in the 50s yet). It is able to get the humidity down to 61% though and we have no dampness or musty smell to our basement. It is running all the time in the brutal summer heat. It truly does make a massive difference to downstairs! Just size up one size from what you think you need, and you wont be disappointed. I will update my review in a year as well. I am worried it will break, as no matter what brand, everyone says dehumidifiers only last a year or so. (Our old one lasted 18!).

Add-on: well here we go again, unfortunately this dehumidifier stopped dehumidifying 6 months in. Everything seemed fine (fan, display), I presume the coolant or the compressor was faulty. Had to send it back and got a full refund. A good thing I had kept the box and packaging. Hope one day this type of apparatus will be built to last or repairable. This was my 4th dehumidifier in 15 years (Danby, Frigidaire etc… and others did not last)!!! Engineers back to the drawing board! Not good for the environment!Original comment:Bought this dehumidifier for my cellar (furnace and storage room, cement floor, walls are halfway insulated) and adjacent family room (door kept open between the two). I was truly surprised by the small size and weight of this apparatus. It is very easy to move around because of its small footprint and weight. Was a breeze to install hose to continuously drain the condensate into my floor drain (highly recommend due to small water container). It is easy to operate, very low noise (in fact I can not hear the compressor unless I glue my ear on the unit and fan noise is not annoying) and the filter is easily removed for cleaning and quite robust. I set it at 40% relative humidity on DEHU mode with fan speed at HIGH. My humidity gauge (ThermoPro, bought on Amazon) records high and low humidity values. These have been and still are respectively 41% (high) and 36% (low) for the past 3 months of continuous operation which to me is quite amazing for the small size of such a unit. In early spring when outside humidity levels were low the unit did stop after reaching 35 or 36 relative humidity, although now with outside humidity levels ranging from 55% to 85% it is working non-stop. I have had Danby and Frigidaire dehumidifiers (50 pint) in the past years and these were huge, heavy, very noisy and used higher wattage than the Hogarlabs to achieve the same results. None lasted more than 3 years of operation, hope this one does better. So I highly recommend this unit you will be surprised! I really thought they had sent me the wrong unit when I unpacked it and was skeptical at first by the expected performance but up to now, in this humid summer weather, I am truly satisfied on all levels!
