Made in China. They are not technically knock offs. Ball issued the licensing of their name to Rubbermaid/Newell Brands. I just messaged both of them that it's wrong of them to have a Ball Jar that is Made in China. Bait and Switch at its finest!

Im pretty sure hot liquid can be put in them. We havent used them for that though.

Will this survive if used as a1000 year time capsule?

The glass should survive, but the removable rubber seal ....not likely.
