Size up unless you want a tight fit.
I sized up. I would normally order a medium. The stated waist measurement on medium was good but the hip measurement was small. I ordered a large and I am very happy with the fit. Since there is no spandex (100% wool) they don't stretch much. The large are quite comfortable and will be great for hiking.

Replace ALL your other leggings!
I get cold easily and am trying to gradually replace as many of the synthetics in my wardrobe as I can with clothes made of natural materials. So when I saw these leggings while doing my Black Friday shopping, I gave in to temptation and bought four pair - two heavyweight and one each in medium and lightweight. Yes, they're in different colors (black, grey, and blue). What I LOVE: They're cozy soft, like a high-quality fine-knit (superfine) merino wool sweater. They aren't itchy at all, and they breathe like they're not even there. The heavyweight ones are sufficient for the freezing temperatures at my sister's place in the mountains without being too warm for the slightly-warmer temperatures at my parents' place. They all look great, sleek and streamlined without the plastic sheen of synthetics. If you do medieval reenactment, like I do, they'll work perfectly for it too, as long as you can cover or ignore the company logos at the hip and left ankle. The free pair of socks that come with them are a basic grey but feel almost pillow-soft. What could be improved: I got XXL, because my measurements are borderline between there and XL for the company's size guide (L/10-12 in normal store sizes). The leggings are a little looser than they need to be, though the nice thing about wool knits is that you can't tell they're big unless they're way too big. I'll probably get XL for my next order, but only because I like the waist to feel a bit more snug than these are. (I can add a drawstring to fix that.) There's a seam about 3" above the ankle that I wish were slightly less visible, though it's not enough to make me look for a different style. An option with pockets would have been nice, even though it would mean losing the seamless line along the outer leg. But these minor issues don't even add up to any significant dissatisfaction. I'm going to be living in them all winter long and will at least be able to wear the lightweight ones in the summer. As well as wool breathes, even the heavyweight ones will probably be more comfortable than synthetic ones in the summer.

High quality, thick gauge wool at budget friendly prices
Sooo glad I bought these for base layering before the big snow storm! I do a lot of winter beach walks in the NE and need to layer up due to wind and extreme cold temps. I wanted a heavier gauge wool (320) to keep my legs warm while walking. These are better than my old Smartwool pair at half the cost!! Really impressed with the high quality wool used and the budget-friendly pricing. Great for moisture wicking, heat retention and also odor control, which means longer wear times between washings- great if you’re backpacking or extended hikes. High quality, non itchy and not bulky for layering. Very cozy feeling too- you can wear them around the house as a single layer like sweats, but a lot less bulky. Haven’t washed them yet but will hand wash in cold water with Woolite to preserve fabric and air dry. You can machine wash them on cold/gentle cycle too if you want, tumble dry low. I am 5’3” 115 lbs and the small fits perfectly. Couldn’t be happier with my purchase! also comes with thick wool socks that keep my feet warm and dry. Stay warm!

Go with the recommended size
Am 5”4.5” (60.5”) tall, 125.8lbs, 28.5” waist. The Amazon fit bot suggested a Small for me, but I dismissed it based on my personal preference with leggings and ordered a Medium instead. Medium is what I usually order in leggings as smalls fit like shapewear on me normally, much too tight. This time I was wrong. The Medium fit very comfortably in the waist but the legs overall were extremely loose and sagged everywhere. Looked more like pajamas than leggings. I returned the medium and went down to a small. The small fit perfectly in the legs, rear, crotch, and length. The issue is the waist is very snug. I feel like if I was a 27” waist it would fit perfectly. Alas, am 54 years old and have a bit of excess padding that, even at my small size and being relatively fit, the small chokes my waist. The waist on these leggings is clearly an XS. The last super minor thing I don’t like is that there is logo branding is on the back calf of one of the legs, which I didn’t anticipate. It is reflective and assume this is a feature for safety or something since this is marketed for outdoor lifestyles. I don’t have an outdoor lifestyle, I am just eliminating synthetics in my wardrobe and home. It isn’t the presence of a logo in and of itself, it’s that it’s a bright silver reflective logo that interrupts an otherwise clean blank canvas of color. In the meantime I roll up the cuff to conceal the reflective logo, which of course has its own cons such as changing the length of the pant leg. As for the feel, I purchased the 165g weight and they are very soft. They are also thin enough that my skin tone is seen through them. I ordered black, and I’m brown-skin toned, so to me that says a lot. You will want to assess transparency to your own use and comfort. However, I recently wore them on a 90°F degree day under a linen dress with no issues, so being thin does have its advantages. I also find that they are easy to move in and work out in. There is also a gusset in the crotch which makes them very comfortable to sit and stretch in.

Worth every penny for the warmth
Bought these to wear under my pants in Iceland and they worked great. They were soft and comfortable, not itchy at all. Also, they got wet at a waterfall but dried very quickly. I would recommend. I am 180lbs, 5’6” and large for great.

Good quality fabric, bizarre fit
The quality of the fabric is amazing, the fit is weird. I am 5'11" and 200 pounds and got a large, they were loose in weird places and had a very roomy very big crotch area as if they were mens pants. Despite the strange fit I do think they are very soft and want to make them work so I'm trying smaller sizes. I'd also like to note, even though the product photo makes it appear that they will come with socks, they do not. I'm pretty indifferent about that because I wasn't buying them for the socks, but thought I would mention that in case it was important to someone else. Fingers crossed a smaller size fits better.

Perfect for the BWCA in mid-May.
True to size, comfortable, cute, and kept me warm. I used these on my canoe trip into the BWCA this past May, just after ice was off the lake. Recommend!

Perfect base layer for skiing
Item arrived on time and as described! Super comfortable, warm, soft base layer, was perfect for wearing under a ski jacket and just lazing around in cold weather. (I ordered the heavyweight version and it wasn't transparent at all; fit true to size.) Oh and the free socks were perfect to wear with walking boots in the snow! Really impressed all around, will definitely buy from these people again. 10/10 would recommend.

Precio y calidad

Great but not for alt use as tights / social leggings.
I wanted wool LEGGINS . I couldn’t find them so I settled for these. I wear them a lot as they are warm and thick and don’t lose shape much. BUT if they hadn’t got the big luminous brand on the back of the bottom leg, they’d get more custom. I would have repurchased. But for those of seeking to pass them as rights under skirts of leggings it doesn’t look good. Obv they are not advertised as such, but if you want more custom, pls get rid of the luminous silver mountain on the back of one leg. Otherwise warm, thick, good walking hiking base thing as advertised.
