A book about prince... not bad..a few errors

Arrived on time and at a great price.

Brilliant book very interesting

I loved it. Couldn't put it down. Maybe if you are one of those people who thinks they already know everything this isn't for you. But if you loved the records and shows but never knew the real story, this is brilliant. Recommended.

I have giveni it 2 stars because it seems heartfelt and there are a few nice snippets of old interviews with people that I had not heard before. Unfortunately the book is far to short and leaves out virtually everything post the O2 concerts, barely mentions the NPG Music Club and as for trying to understand what Prince was 'about' doesn't even scrape the surface. Reeks of a book being written to a publishing deadline.

If you are a Prince fan this is not the book for you. It only just reaches 200 pages (including an index). Actually ashamed to admit I purchased it at such a rip off price. Lacking in content, this is just a quick knock together to profit from the unfortunate death of a great artist. DO NOT BUY

Minimally researched quickie. One of the least impressive Prince books ever.

I am not the target audience for this book, as I don't read many pop music biographies and am not that familiar with Prince, but had to read it for a book club. The best thing about it is the title. Otherwise appears hastily thrown together in the wake of his death, and not much more than a jigsaw puzzle of pieces scraped from the internet or press. I was disappointed that there weren't more photos of others mentioned in the book - the pictures are pretty samey and uninteresting, and none at all from his childhood.But to be fair to Mick Wall, who has a good reputation as a music journalist, given the nature of Prince, it would have been hard to write a more incisive and revealing biography even when he was alive, never mind after his death, so it must have been a poor hand to be dealt this book commission, and he's probably made the best he could out of the material in the time available.

Loved it, author gave a very well written unbias portrait of this amazing artist. If you are looking for a tell all book that focuses on only the private day by day account of Prince, you probably won't be furfilled. This book does however mentioned private personal moments with him told by others according to their recollections. If you are more interested in his career, talent, and genus this is the book to read in my opinion. As a avid admirer of his talent and music, this book was extremely satisfing. Will definitely purchase the actual book to add to my home library, since I only purchased it for Kindle. There are many Kings however, there was only one Prince!!!

This is one of the best bios I have read so far. Still can't quite grasp reality....Prince forever. LOVE U
