Bought this as a gift for my younger brother (basketball junkie!) and he thinks it is a way cool idea. It lights up like it says. Might weigh a little less than a normal basketball, so maybe not the best for practicing, but good for a game of night horse!

I had my doubts, mostly because we’ve all seen a million different companies try this (sport balls with lights) and it never works right...right?This thing is 1) durable. 2) perfectly bright (not like the sun but soft, like the moon). 3) feels like a basketball should, bounces well. 4) the light is seated inside the ball just so right, doesn’t effect the ball’s performance. 5) most importantly: are you sitting down ?? This ball operates on 3 tiny stacked watch batteries, BUT the seller includes 12 fresh tiny watch batteries in the box!!! Who does that nowadays? Can you imagine your TV remote coming packaged with 12 extra AA’s so you don’t have to buy them ( or forget them ). “Batteries ARE included, how ‘bout that. Big win for you TealCo. Impressive

This worked great for nighttime hoops for my 13 y/o for about 2 weeks, then the light fell out. We found it and put it back in, but it fell out again. Good idea, not so great quality. It wasn't hardcore hoops either, just shooting hoops by himself in the driveway or playing HORSE w/ his parents. Should have held up better.

this basketball works great. we have used it several times and the boys really like it. i have heard them say "it's awesome" and "cool". now if we can find some way of lighting up the goal. they would play all night if i would let them. just make sure the switch and light assembly is completely installed before using. we experienced one instance of the light coming out because i didn't make sure the assembly was all the way in and tightened as much as it should have been. only problem is now i'm gonna have to order several more. i think though i will be ordering the TealCo Light-Up Football next and see if it can stand up to a nine, ten, two twelve, three thirteen and two fourteen year olds as good as this basketball has. again this is a great product.

My six year old nephew who loves basketball, had a birthday coming up and asked specifically for this ball. I ordered it and had the company send it to his address. On his birthday a box came from TealCo, only they'd sent him a football, not the light up basketball he was anxiously anticipating. I contacted TealCo and very politely let them know, and explained that my little nephew lived with his grandpa who was wheelchair-bound, and that returning the football might be a problem for them. TealCo said they'd send a new basketball and gave the grandpa instructions to put the football into the box that the basketball arrived in, seal it back up and write "return to sender" on it and put it back in the mailbox. The grandfather did exactly that, but a couple of days later it came right back to them with $10.92 postage due! In the meantime, the basketball light quit working after the first day!!! I contacted the seller again, and told them what had happened, thanked them for their help, but also told them that I was all done trying to make this work. I, also, very politely told them I didn't believe in leaving bad feedback, and wouldn't, but hoped their company would make some changes so that this didn't happen to anyone else. Their response was just two words....."Whatever, Alice" That's it. Basketball didn't function for more than a day and the company is just rude.

Absolutely a blast to play at night with! Couldn't believe how close it feels to the real deal. Get a good couple hours of each set of batteries. I wish they would come out with a usb rechargeable battery pack for this and their other Light Up balls. I would highly recommend for great fun with night games.

Unlike the light-up football that turns when you tap it this needs to be pushed on and off.....and the off button doesn't always work. stuck on til battery died. not worth $$ in my opinion.

For Christmas I got the basketball for my nephew the wiffle ball and bat for another nephew a volleyball for my daughter soccer and football for my sons and the frisbee for my husband. What great gifts tons of fun.
