Renews old walls like a pro
After manually restoring 1 wall in my kitchen, plastering and rub down, my daughter asked me to do her sitting room along with stairs and landing. This involved plastering over a cottage style textured plaster to return it to smooth. Unfortunatley I only bought this machine after the plastering, using Easifill 60, was completed at which point it was still rough and uneven, I am not too good at plastering. If I had the machine before plastering it would have done the job with little effort. We tried sanding uisng hand sanders but the dust was prohibitive and the prospect of doing the rest was not feasible. Saw the dry wall sander and decided to get it, write ups were OK. I am glad I did. It still took a bit of time because of the size of the job but the results were excellent. The dust was kept low enough not to need a mask and the only escape was through the cloth bag extraction bag which blows up like a bagpipe. There was an option of connecting a vacuum cleaner so we could have cut seepage from extraction bag even further. The machine itself was a little noisy but the ring light strip meant you were able to see where needed to be done next. The hook and eye papers enclosed were better than the "extras" advertised as also bought as whilst these were said to last up to 10 times longer they didn't do as good a job. My next project is removing stippled effect from my kitchen and when I tried it the result was like glass even with 150 grit paper, I thought I would have had to over plaster but it looks like I will be saved from that. Like with most tools you get what you pay for but for ยฃ78 this machine was fantastic. Compared to the cost of getting a plasterer in it was a snip and she is delighted. I wish I had done it at the start of the p[roject.

It's an OK sander for drywall
I wasn't expecting the best sander on the market at this price. I had to sand a wall I just ripped off the wallpaper and filled lots of holes, and chunks of plaster that had fallen off. The sander is on the heavy side to hold for more than 5 minutes so had to rest before using again. It took just over an hour to complete the task and changing numerous sand pads It's noisy you should really wear ear mufflers to deafen the noise it also makes a racket once on and it takes time to get to full speed On a good note the dust extraction to the carry bag is good hardly any dust remains in the air . Sadly after a weeks usage the bag has a tiny hole from where you open the bag it has a slider plastic catch which has made a hole in bag. You can also attach it to a Henry hoover which is again a good suction for dust . Best feature on this sander is the circular light which shows up all the imperfections on the wall which helps to identify areas which still need sanding smooth. Not really a professional kit more for the DIYER to used occasionally as it's too heavy to use on a daily basis..

Excellent sander!
Bought this to sand down after taping and jointing. This has been a trial by error don't put too much mud on otherwise it's doesn't work and you will have to hand sand the walls to get the profile down for it to sand it properly. Now I have learnt how to apply the mud it is an excellent sander and 90% less dust compared to hand sanding. Now I do a layer of mud and use the sander to smooth it level, it's done in minutes and has made the job a lot easier.

No longer works after three uses, no warranty details and no contact from manufacturer.
purchased this in October and used three times and now find that regardless of the grade of sandpaper used the sander does not remove anything from the surface. wont even remove a pencil mark from an emulsioned wall with a 40 grit disk, all that happens is the wall becomes shiny as though the disk is not contacting the wall properly. Tried a small oribital sander and surface removed without a problem. Tried to arrange a return through Amazon and online returns just sends you to manufacturers website in China despite the seller being listed as Handife Direct UK. Have filled in online form but as yet have not had any acknowledgement of form being submitted or contact from the company. Will allow a couple more days to receive a response and then contact Amazon by phone in hope of getting it sorted. Issue also caused me to check the listing for warranty details and couldnt find any details of a warranty on Amazon or the manufacturers website. Tried the chat online, received one automated response on where to register for extender warranty, link to extended warranty displays a 403 forbidden page. Having performed my due diligence too late I would advise anyone considering purchase of a handife product to reconsider, product is great when it works but dont expect any support if it breaks outside amazons 30 day returns policy.

Discs are not 225mm
Received this item today and it is decent enough but when buying the reviews stated it takes a 225mm disc but it doesn't the base plate is only 180mm, it does states this in the technical data but the real problem is I can't find 185mm discs on Amazon. So I have a sander I can't buy discs for, great ๐

Great suction, so no to dusty.
Great sander comes with a storage bag. Nice Led light, so you can see no matter what light level you have. Good suction so not much dust to worry about. Not to heavy and adjustable speeds.

Works great but be ready for a workout
If you have any plastering done, you'll need one of these to finish the surface. People will say you shouldn't need to sand the surface if you get a good plasterer but I've done a house rennovation and went through three highly-rated plasterers and the surface finishes were mediocre to poor - hence why I purchased this product. If you doubt how bad plasterers are, turn all lights off at night, get a torch and shine it sideways across fresh plaster - behold the 3rd rate finish. See the first part of attached video for the worst I had to deal with - basically the surface of the moon. Second part shows after sanding with this product - ignore the scratches they mostly disappeared with a higher grit paper and 2 coats of paint. See attached photo for final painted finish. Now, regarding this product - which is great and does the job nicely. The light-ring is a godsend and is perfect for the job, and there's plenty of power in this tool. The vaccum function's better than expected, there's not too much dust, but there will be some so take precautions on electrical equipment or anything you don't want a fine layer of dust covering. It's noisy, get some ear-defenders - they're not essential, but desirable. Same with face mask/gogles - I used them sometimes, but not others. Initially, the weight of this feels light, but if you have many walls to do, you're gonna feel its weight very quickly. You're gonna sweat a lot, and if you have any ceilings to do, prepare for war, because you can keep it above your head for a couple of minutes at a time before your shoulders are screaming. Consider the pole attachment!! (which i didn't). Make sure you get plenty of sanding discs because you'll go through a lot. When using it, be aware, the lower the grit you use the more deep scratches you're gonna get, so make sure you go over areas again with increasingly higher grit to get rid of as many scratches as possible before painting. I also wipe down the plaster after sanding with a very wet sponge which also smooths off a long of the minor imperfections. Two good coats of paint will do the rest. This product is apparently designed for drywall and presumably joint filler, but I was using it on skim coat sitting over bonded base. I used 80-150 grit sanding discs - but mostly used 100/120 grits. I used upto 240 for touch up work on filler etc. I also use this as a bog standard orbital sander, and it works fine. Any drawbacks? The sanding disc surface doesn't reach right to the edge, so you'll need a manual sanding plate for the edges of walls/celings.

Impressive.
Actually quite impressive and does the job, but you definitely need more sand paper on standby.
