Tremendous Food (and Time) Saver
I bought this as I was losing to many 'family pack' meats from the grocery or COSTCO to freezer burn. It's only the two of us, and I'd buy those family size packages only to use a few today, then lose the rest in the freezer. Especially with as expensive as food is today, a real bummer. I bought the VS-12P from Amazon, and it's a game changer for me. Well-built, easy to use, intelligent controls, EZ/PZ to use. Now I can break up these bulk packages to meal-size portions and vacpack and freeze with no worries. This stuff can now be put back just like canned goods, pasta, flour, etc. in the freezer until needed. Thaws easy in a cold water sink and comes out as fresh as the day I packed it. This is one of those 'WHY didn't I get one of these sooner' buys. It saves you having to go to the store every few days for fresh meat and produce, it's real unspoken advantage. Now I can go once a week or less. THAT's a huge time savings I never realized till I bought this. This is a great product, and I'd buy one or recommend one in a heartbeat.

Saves grocery money
Bought this instead of smaller models or the ones on tv (if you order in the next 30 minutes). We would rather spend a little more for something that is going to last. We have had this dealer for a few months with absolutely no issues. It is easy to use for just about any type of food. Once you get the hang of it you can seal items very quickly. We have had meat that was sealed in the freezer for several months with absolutely no freezer burn. While packing the freezer we came across other items in regular freezer bags that had to be thrown out. The only minor (very minor) complaint is the sealing surface is about 2 inches above the counter top leaving 2 choices. One, cut the bags to a longer length or second, get a box from the pantry lay it down against the sealer and now the bag is level with the sealing strip resulting in not having to use long cut bags.

Works well for sous vide purposes
A lot of mixed reviews; however, for our family, this unit worked perfectly for sous vide sealing / cooking purposes. Only once did it not seal completely. We just ran it through again on the manual selection and it did the job. I haven't had this long enough to know if it will hold up after a year's time. My son was impressed with the machine and thought it was a very high end machine offering ease of use compared to a different brand he purchased a few years back that didn't have as many options as this unit offers.

Great when it works....
Great product when it works. Just sent back our second one, after having it for a month, when it stopped 'vacuuming'. Seals all seemed fine, still closed the bags, the pump worked, just stopped pulling the air out of the bag. Had a similar problem with one we bought in 2022, which failed in July, and the one we returned was the replacement. Will likely still buy one,as when it works it is great.

Works well
This sealer is much better than the mueller one I had before. The double seal is great and it makes a good seal every time. It is a little slower but since it does a double seal it still ends up being faster overall. The built in cutter works well. It is pretty big for storage but stores one roll inside.

Seems great. Time will tell.
UPDATE 4-22-2024 Sealer is holding up, but doesn’t pull as strong of a vacuum as it did at first. I feel like the pump is slowly diminishing. The sealer itself gets a tentative 5 star rating, as I’ve only had it a week. The company (or maybe the reseller, or maybe amazon) jacked the price up 40% after a positive mention on a popular TV show. This is not cool. I guess sales slowed, so the price is now back to within a few bucks of what it was before. Pros: It’s quiet. My last sealer was a seal a meal that sounded like someone was jackhammering concrete. This one just makes a quiet purring noise. It’s more convenient. With the last one I had, in order to double seal both ends of a bag from a roll I had to do 4 complete vacuum cycles. With this one, I just seal the bottom (one shot double seal and no need to run the vacuum motor) fill the bag, then vacuum and seal. Pulse vacuum. This is awesome. For moist foods, just vacuum til the juice starts to rise, then seal. Works great for sous vide, where you really just need a snug seal where the food is in good contact with the bag. Also great for delicate foods, as the “gentle” mode is a little stout for things like pastry and bread. Vacuum is quite strong. I was a little dubious as the pump is so quiet, so I vacuum sealed an empty beer can. While it didn’t flatten it completely, it sufficiently squashed it to convince me it was a fairly high powered pump. Cons: The touch pad is a little cheap feeling. Sometimes takes multiple tries to get it to perform the desired function. The countdown timer, while seemingly convenient, is a bit of a gimmick. It sits at 9 seconds for 15-20 seconds THEN counts down from 9 to 0. And that 9 second countdown has ranged anywhere from 14 seconds to the advertised 9 seconds. Overall it seems like the best for its price range. We’ll see if it outlasts the 9 months my old one lasted.

I was wrong, I thought it as slow. But I LOVE THIS Nesco VS-12.
(wrote this review over a span of a few hours while working. Hope it makes sense) I bought this Nesco after seeing so many reviews from companies picking this over the FoodSaver. I have been using FoodSaver for about 8 years, and I've gone through 3 different models, all top of the line models (at the time of purchase). I was ready to find something else that could be better and have a tight seal I ordered the VS-12 and set it up. It was smaller than the models of FS I had prior. I read and saw many people using the DOUBLE SEAL, and I started off using only the double seal. You couldn't go wrong double sealing anything. However, it was slow. VERY SLOW. SO slow, I thought there was a problem with the machine. Amazon sent me a replacement. Same "PROBLEM". What I didn't like about the FS was the amount of time it took to do the first seal on multiple bags. I hated that blink light when you insert the bag too early. However, doing the double seal on the Nesco was MUCH longer, I timed it, about 32-33 seconds from the time right after I sealed one to the time it will start sealing the next bag. I was frustrated and was going to return this Nesco. I just couldn't understand why there weren't reviews on how SLOW this machine is. I searched reviews with the word SLOW and found very few reviews. THEN A LIGHT BULB WENT OFF! The Foodsaver seals with a single line. I need to see how the single seal works with the Nesco to really compare apple to apple. Thus, I started using it in NORMAL mode. I was blown away at how tight the seal line was, and on top of that, how FAST it performed. I did NOT need to use the double seal feature. It is freaking nice to be able to do it if and when I want to do a double seal, but I do not see the need to go to that "extreme". Yes, it will be much slower, but you should expect that. The main thing is, in normal mode, this Nesco VS-12 will best everything the 3 FoodSavers I had could have done. I really do not see the need for a double seal as when you actually feel the seal line, it really is completely sealed up. BUT, it is definitely a very good feature to have if you are freezing A5 meat (HAHA). The only thing I wish they will change is the "locked"position of the locking handle. I wish they'd make it higher up instad of where it is. Why? Because sometimes I cut too small of a bag, and I try to squeeze in, and the item will jam into the handle and kinda pushes it upwards, which could unlock or lighten the seal. But, overall, I find the Nesco VS-12 to be a solid vacuum sealer. Just seeing the seal line alone, you can see how solid of a seal it is. I've had problems of the Foodsaver seal coming apart (leaking air IN) overtime in the freezer. I will update this review if I have that problem with the Nesco.

Not worth the extra money -
It's 7 months later, and I wasn't very happy with it but thought I should give it more time to see if it was operator error - and maybe it still is. The sealer would not work right out of the box, so I called support, and they said to soak the gaskets in water overnight because they were probably dry from being stored, and that seemed to help. The sealer only seems to work with their brand of bags. I could not get it to seal with other the 'name brand' rolls that I already had; I think the problem was that those bags were a bit thicker. I ended up having to donate those other bags. It seems to seal fine with their brand of rolls but if there is a wrinkle, and there are a few on beginning and end of their rolls, it will not seal the bag, and you have to throw that part away. I cannot find the narrower rolls, so I am finding that I waste quite a bit of the bag unless I form the meat into a tube shape to at least try and use the width of the bag. The photo is of sliced tenderloin, but ground beef needs to be the same shape. Also, don't try and skimp on the length, you have to make sure you have enough to properly place the bag into the vacuum channel; I've had some waste cutting them the same length that I could have with my old 'Seal-A-Meal', and it would not seal. After this current roll is gone, I will donate this one and buy a Seal-A-Meal. I had an inexpensive one for years and never had these issues with it.

Convertisseur 220v-110v obligatoire en Europe
Il serait utile de préciser en description qu'il s'agit de matériel aux normes américaines et qu'il faut également un convertisseur 220v-110v pour pouvoir utiliser l'appareil...

Fantastic value and build quality
I bought this vacuum sealer because I was fed up with cheaper machines failing me, and this one really impressed. It feels really sturdy and works exactly as I need it to. The fact that it has space inside to store the bag roll is a nice bonus — makes it neater and more convenient. What I like: - The build is solid: no flimsy parts, it gives me confidence it’ll last. - Good value for the price — you get a strong performing machine without paying over-the-top. - The built-in storage for the bag roll is a thoughtful touch — keeps everything together. - It handles a variety of uses in my kitchen smoothly. One minor thing to watch: - When using the automatic mode with liquid-rich foods, it’s too strong (i.e., the suction or seal may cause a mess). I found that switching to the manual mode for liquids works much better. - That said, the automatic mode is fine for dry items or standard sealing jobs. Verdict: If you’re looking for a vacuum sealer that’s built tough, offers smart features (like internal roll storage), and gives you solid performance — this one ticks the boxes. I’m giving it 5 stars because it consistently delivers what I need.

Es súper fácil de usar. Ya he empacado varias cosas; el vacío que hace es eficiente, la cuchilla integrada corta la bolsa muy bien. Definitivamente lo recomiendo.
