very easy to carry daily -CREE LED should last a long ...
Pros -High quality construction -Very bright considering size and weight -Excellent value. for around $20 you should buy several of these. -Compact size. very easy to carry daily -CREE LED should last a long time Cons -The constant on botton can be difficult to push -everybody wants mine. If I'm being totally honest I have only had this flashlight for about a week. I'm not qualified to comment on the durability or construction on it other than to say I am not at all worried based on the other reviews and the feel in hand. This thing feels like it would survive a few deployments in a warzone. Which is almost definitely overkill for a pen light but not so much overkill that it hurts anything. The light is still under 3 ounces but manages to feel very sturdy. Supposedly it is all o ring sealed so it should be fairly water proof and shock resistant. I'm not going to fling it at any concrete any time soon but it gives me the impression it would be no worse for wear. What I can say without a doubt is that I love this light. I frequently get home after dark and I wanted a nice small flashlight I could carry to light my way. This thing is an excellent companion in that regard. It is light enough to go unburdened into my pocket and small enough to not really get in the way of anything. I suppose if you're a hipster or a woman and are accustomed to wearing pants so tight you barely squeeze into them it may be more of an issue but if that's the case you can always clip on the outside of your pants. There's really no excuses to not be able to carry one of these. I was also surprised how bright the Cree LED is. The description says 65 lumens but as many of us know not all lumens are equal. Streamlight does not appear to be deceptive when they say 65 lumens. This light is plenty bright for the size of it. It isn't extremely bright if you take size out of the equation so I wouldn't necessarily use it as your only flashlight around the house but it is purpose built and exceptional at its designated duty. Don't expect it to be as bright as your headlights and you should be plenty satisfied with it. The power button is a little difficult to click to constant on. That would be perhaps the biggest con I've noticed so far. I can still do it with either hand and I can forgive them for designing it that way because it was done on purpose. They make it very easy to lightly hold the button down for a quick momentary on burst but in turn make it difficult to get it clicked on to fully on. There's plenty of people offering suggestions and instructions on how to fix that if you don't like it but I accept it as part of the design and see no issues with it. I'm usually only using a penlight in short bursts anyway. If I needed more light I should be going for more flashlight as well. The only reason I even think it's worth mentioning is because older people or anyone with dexterity issues might not like it so much if they can't turn on the constant on mode. I don't think anyone that can open a pickle jar would have issues though. Overall I am very satisfied with this purchase. It has been my first Streamlight product but I can confidently say it will not be my last. I am very pleased with the product. I would and have already recommended it to friends and family members interested in a high quality light. This is a great, HIGH value option for something you want to carry every day. If you compare this to what you could at Wal-Mart off the rack for 15-20$ this light would run circles around any of their options. Buy one. I have no doubt you wont need another unless you lose it.

Powerful, Well Made, and Priced Right!
This is a tough, well-made flashlight that has many uses. Much has been written on this light already, so I will focus on main points of my experience and what I consider to be the best uses of this flashlight. High Quality: This flashlight is made of high-quality components throughout, from its anodized aluminum body, to its strong pocket clip, to its well-protected switch. The lens is scratch-resistant glass and the LED is rated for tens of thousands of hours, far longer than a lifetime of likely use. How many times have I replaced the bulb in my popular 2 AA battery mini light? Too many. This one should last a good long time. The AAA batteries that this one takes fit nicely with little (but some) movement if the light is shaken. The tail switch has a strong, positive feel to it and is covered by a sturdy rubber boot. The light is water resistant and has a rubber O-ring in its tail cap. Powerful Light: Though it is a small light and runs on AAA batteries, this throws off plenty enough light to find one's way around a dark room, house, basement, or office building. It is easily strong enough to check for critters 50 feet out in my back yard. There are many brighter flashlights out there, but for its size and battery type, this on is really good. While the beam cannot be focused or changed, the spill of light is reasonable and the center of the beam remains bright and compact at a distance. The light, to my eyes, is a clean white and not tinged with color. I have not tested this light continuously with new batteries, but the batteries do seem to last a long time with periodic use. Value: This one is always big with me. I can afford having nice toys, but I feel silly spending lots of scratch for something that only works marginally better. This excellent little light is a terrific value, but throw in a decent nylon holster and quality batteries and it's just outstanding. Personally, I don't think it is practical to wear this light with the holster, as it is so light that it hangs on just fine with its strong pocket clip. The holster makes for a nice storage device, though. Best Uses: To me, this is an ideal light to have anywhere you would want one for emergency purposes: The glove box of an auto, the nightstand, your office drawer. Ever been in a large office building when the lights go out? I have, and it's no fun. Keep this little baby in your office drawer next to the pens and pencils and it will give you more than enough light to lead you to safety through darkened offices and stairwells. This light takes up so little space - about the size of a mechanical pencil - that there really isn't a reason not to have one either on your person or in your immediate vicinity. Carried in your shirt pocket, you hardly know it is there. It is likewise handy to illuminate that flat tire in the middle of a rainy night, or to find that nut that you just dropped down past the manifold. Ladies, this is an excellent item to have in your purse or bag, too. Ever been camping and wanted to take a stroll to the loo without having to take the lantern with you? This little light is perfect for all those occasions. Could you get a light that throws off more light or lasts longer? Sure, and I've got those, too. But this one is so small, powerful, and inexpensive, I don't feel bad about getting a few of them to have around where I need them. Would I want to leave my expensive tactical flashlight in my desk drawer at work where it's likely to nicked by a coworker or cleaning crew? No. The beauty of this flashlight is that it is small enough to put anywhere you would need it and inexpensive enough that you feel you could. And, while it's not as powerful as some of the other, fancy lights you may have, it is more than powerful enough to do most of what you would want a flashlight for, especially in emergency situations. I've been using these for a while now and they have been reliable and tough. For performance, value, and durability, this flashlight is an easy five stars.

It's Not Every Day That Your Gear Impresses You --- 5/5
I have had my Stylus Pro for over two years, and could not be more pleased. This flashlight was carried every day for the bulk of that time, to include work in a industrial factory, light outdoor tasks, and general day-to-day use. For its size, it is a 100% tank, awesome, great, all the above---rock star piece of equipment. The light output of this sucker blows away small single LED and cellphone flashlights. Recently, to great sadness, my Stylus Pro went missing in the middle of a cross country move. After much searching, it was found a few months later in a nook of the car. During that time, the batteries had corroded and somehow gotten jammed in the barrel. Instead of hitting them with some solvent and letting them sit over night, I decided to take off the end cap and drop it on my concrete garage floor. This did nothing. I decided to then abandon the drop method and resort to the throw method. After much frustration, the batteries were removed as well as half of the end cap threads on the main body. At this point, I just assumed the light was a loss and I got on Amazon to replace it. While I was waiting for the computer to boot up, I decided to file away the frayed threads, do some careful bending, drop some fresh batteries in there, and baby the end cap on. What do you know, the damn thing worked. I was pretty surprised and damn well pleased. After seeing the abuse this guy has survived over the course of two years, I would definitely recommend it to a friend. Its light output is somewhere in between an iPhone and a medium sized duty flashlight. You won't great insane illumination with this guy, but you will probably be surprised at the light it can throw. It's weight isn't noticeable in the pocket. As far as competitive options within its own brand, the Stylus Pro is much better than its smaller cousin, the Microstream. I would also say it's better than the Nano, but that is sort of its own class of light. It rides in the pocket much better than the Micro, and throws much more light out for its size. As far as my own issue with the corroded batteries, I can't say what caused it. They were cheapos from Amazon, and the o-rings look intact and flexible, so I would likely blame the batteries themselves versus the light. The pocket clip rides very deep, and has maintained its strength over my personal use--still showing impressive tension after several years. The on/off button is very positive and easily pushed with the thumb, or index finger with or without gloves. The beam itself has about a 8" radius at 10', without much dispersion. The beam is also more than capable of reaching out across a room or greater distances. The black coating has worn well, only fading on the edges of the textured areas. Overall--this light is a great EDC option. This isn't a duty carry light, but it's not meant to be. You won't be disappointed with this purchase if you are looking for a light to meet your everyday needs.

Awesome High Value Pen Light That You Should Already Own
Quick Review: Awesome, lightweight, durable, simple, reliable, cool, functional, and you should buy one now. Long Review: In the past few months I have bought 4 of these flashlights. In the past few years I have started an everyday carry system. I have always heard how useful a flashlight is to have on you at all times but never really got one because I though how useful it was considering I have an iPhone on me at all times. So the more I heard about the idea about carrying a flashlight as well as hearing about this flashlight I became intrigued. I saw this flashlight listed at around $20. Being a college student even this is relatively affordable. There was nothing I heard that made this seem like a bad product with reviews and such being very positive. So I puled the trigger on one. Not to sound cheesy but it really did change my life. I never knew how useful these things could be because they are slightly bigger than a pen with a ton of light being thrown out. Definitely an upgrade from the iPhone. This product is not the best out there but it is close. The only other main competitor (that I know of) is the Four Sevens Preon 2 being about the same size and weight. However it is twice as much being around $44. It has a much brighter light over 100 lumens, even though I have heard reviews say that in reality it is not brighter. Also the Preon 2 has different modes like high, mid, low ,sos and so on. This is definitely something to consider because if you have the extra money I would say go for it. It also looks fantastic and is very streamlined. Also the streamlight protac might be another option too. However, if your like me and want to save a few bucks this is the best option. It is slim, not much bigger than your standard pen, it is very simple, and it is rugged. It is also bright and the battery last longer than that you think. Im sure by now you can figure out that I really like this product however there is one small issue I have with it. That is the finish. I'm sure that the finish is great even compared to the competitors but while I had this in my pocket I noticed that the finished began to wear and wear fast. From the few months that I had it it look already a few years old due to it being beat up. I haven't used it a ton nor have I abused it. I think the wear was due to the fact I had a leatherman multi-tool in the same pocket so I don't blame it on the product itself. I was weary about the rubber tail cap getting worn out but I haven't seen much wear on that plus it is replaceable anyways. Other than that there are really no negative points. So overall for the money I have not seen anything that can beat this product. Also Streamlight has improved this model with a more powerful LED bumping the lumen count to 65 from 48. Not a huge upgrade but it still is better than nothing. Again the light is very powerful even for being only 65 lumens it definitely seems like more. It is a huge improvement over an iPhone or any cell phone camera for that matter, it just doesn't compare. I am more than happy to spend my money on this product and would do it again in a heartbeat. Since I got my first one I ended up getting another for myself as well as one for each of my parents. They also love theres although, not quite as much as I do. So in my honest opinion, just buy one. I promise it will be worth it. Oh did I mention it came with 2 Energizer batteries? Well played Streamlight, well played... NOTE: The picture is comparing the new light to the old one. As you can see the old one does have a significant amount of wear and scratches but it runs perfectly and I have no problems using it.

Almost perfect slim pocket light
This is a very nice light with numerous positives and only two negatives in my opinion. The light is white, not blue or yellow toned. Construction appears to be excellent. I purchased the blue case and it is a very nice color. It is comfortable holding it like a writing instrument or when wrapping the palm of your hand around the barrel as you might choose to do with your off hand while holding a pistol in your dominant hand. The light is bright with any appropriate spread. If you are in a dark room the spread will fill a twenty foot wall from twenty feet away. A brighter light may be more interesting to some but certainly not necessary. If needed, you could do serious harm to someone using it as a defensive light even though it is not designed for this purpose. It does not roll when placed on a flat surface. It will also not stand on it's tail cap but it was not designed to do this. I think this is a wonderful light for most applications. The negatives are this, I intended to use this as a every day carry light clipped in my pant pocket. The clip is simply too smooth to keep it there. I have bumped it and therefore knocked it out of my pockets numerous times in numerous pants. I've resulted to letting it fall fully into my pocket or I keep it in a shirt pocket. The other negative applies to those who do not have strong hands or have a neurological deficit. The on / off tail cap button is extremely hard to turn on and off. This prevents the light from being turned on accidentally and draining the batteries and I think that is a good idea. However, if you have weakness in your hands I strongly recommend not purchasing this light. To me, the single serious problem that the manufacturer could correct is to use a clip similar to those used by folding knife manufacturers that holds securely to a pocket. Overall, for the money, a remarkable flashlight that can be used in numerous settings. Except staying clipped to pants pockets. Treat yourself to one, or two.

Excellent Product!
I've only owned the pen light for a couple of days now, but so far I love it! I've gotten used to carrying a small LED flashlight around with me. It's amazing how often a flashlight comes in handy (looking for something on the floor of a movie theater, on the floor of your car, etc...). It's just a great tool to have. LED light is so bright and clear, it really helps you see more than traditional lights. It's such a step up from the old yellow flashlights of our past. I bought two small'ish high quality Leatherman flashlights at Costco for $25-$30 each. I also bought two not-so-high quality flashlights at Sam's Club for $28 (package of two). I'd either keep one in my car or take it with me when I go wherever I went. Therein lies the problem. Carrying a flashlight, especially a well-made one (i.e. heavier), is a pain. It's very difficult if you're just relying on your pockets & hands. It's easier if you carry a backpack or a man bag, but that's not always practical. Anyway, a flashlight was always just another thing I had to carry (iPod, Flip video, cell phone, wallet, keys) wherever I went. Living in the Midwest, we have very cold winters and very hot/humid summers. I'm not a fan of leaving electronics in freezing or sweltering vehicles, so I always have to truck everything around with me. Well, thanks to this pen light, I have one fewer thing to carry. Sure, it still has to go with me, but I hardly know it's there! Obviously it's the size of a pen, so it's very small. It's also very lightweight. The light is extremely bright, much more than I'd expect from a product this size. Just stick it in your pocket and go. It feels like it's very high quality, and will hold up with more than a few drops (not that I'd recommend dropping it, but it happens). Be careful with the holster. It comes very tight and will grip onto anything. At the movies this weekend, I ended up using the light for something, and then attached the holster to the leg of my shorts. When I stood up (and the light stayed firmly in place), I decided to pull it off my shorts leg. I wasn't thinking. Make sure you gently slide it off whatever it's clipped onto. I ended up pulling it out more than sliding it down, and it bent the holster out a bit. Now it's not as tight as it was when it came, and will no longer grip onto just anything.

Great EDC light holding up strong after 2 years of constant use!!!
Another UPDATE 9/19/2015-- This is still a great light. I have bought a couple of other more powerful EDC lights, but always go back to this one because it has only one mode. The output is about right for most everyday use when inspecting houses or working on something. The battery life is still very good. I have been alternating between 2 sets of eneloops and they work great. I still carry this everyday and its holding up great. The pocket clip is also still holding up good. I will probably continue to carry this light until someone comes out with a one mode 80-100 lumen light that will last 5+ hours. Buy this light, you will not be disappointed. UPDATE:2/21/2015 (almost a year old) This light is still working great, I still use it everyday. Only downside is they upgraded the light right after I bought mine, I have the 45 lumen. Battery life is still very good, I use rechargeable eneloops. I have had zero problems, and I literally use is 5-20 min everyday. I carry it at all times and the paint is worn off of it. I highly recommend it. i have carried this light for 5 months and it is great. I use it every day multiple times a day for work. it is pretty bright for its size and you don't have to fool with multiple modes like some other slightly brighter flashlights. The battery life is excellent, i use it everyday and just changed the batteries a month ago. Puts out more than adequate light for inspecting interior rooms, cabinets, under equipment, and automobiles. You can't go wrong with this light Update Jan 2016. Light is still going strong after almost 2 years of constant EDC and use. I can't believe I have actually kept up with it this long. I am still rotating the same four eneloop batteries that I bought with the light. I use this light constantly. Even though it's not the brightest light, I feel its still the best AAA penlight out there with its balance of brightness vs battery life. Even though this may sound crazy, I am able to use it hands free since it's light enough to put in my mouth like a cigar, but waterproof so I can lather it in soap and rinse it off when it's gotten dirty. I have even ordered this light for some co-workers Update Aug 2016- Light is still going strong on the original battery rotation. Only problems with it is that the pocket clip has weakened a little bit and it has fell out of my pocket a time or two, but otherwise it works flawlessly. I still use and carry this light everyday!

Excellente !
