Another high-quality product from Govee!
I am absolutely obsessed with the brand Govee and this RGBIC LED Strip Lights (16.4 ft, model H617A) is yet another winner in their lineup! I’ve got about 30 of their devices across my home — thermostats, humidifiers, lighting — and each one has delivered stellar performance. This LED strip is no exception. Here’s why I love it: Setup was super easy. I peeled, stuck, and plugged it in—then paired it in the Govee Home app in a minute. The color control is fantastic. Because it’s RGBIC, you can have multiple colors on one line at a time, which gives way more dynamic looks than traditional RGB strips. Amazon The app features are rich: 16 million color options, DIY zones, preset “scenes” for movies/parties/relaxing, and a music‑sync mode that actually works (the built‑in mic picked up the beat and the lights danced along). Amazon Stickiness is good — the tape adheres well to the wall, under the cabinet or behind my TV. The note about cleaning the surface first is legit (dust will ruin the bond) but once it’s done, it stays put. Amazon As someone who’s already invested in the Govee ecosystem, the app integration and build quality fit perfectly with the rest of my smart‑home gear. Everything just works smoothly together. If I were nitpicking: this particular model uses Bluetooth only (no WiFi/voice assistant support per the specs) so if you were hoping for Alexa/Google integration you’ll want one of their WiFi versions. Amazon But for what I needed — a vibrant, reliable smart LED strip — it’s perfect. Bottom line: if you’re considering this, don’t hesitate. It adds immediate “wow” factor and pairs flawlessly with a smart home setup. Highly recommend.

Great quality and easy install!
I just wanted some simple lighting above my cabinets and figured I’d try these since they were inexpensive. Honestly, they work amazing. Installation took just a few minutes, and they provide great lighting for everyday use. I don’t really use the color-changing options daily, but they’ll definitely be fun for holidays and get-togethers. Overall, this was a very cost-effective way to add above-cabinet lighting for super cheap. Highly recommend.

Very techie and fun but no WIFI
This was a great addition to my ceiling recessed lighting in my bead room. I bought it quickly while it was on sale not noticing it only communicates with Bluetooth but not WiFi. I believe they have a model that does but is a few dollars more. If you plan to use it in conjunction with other Govee products, this isn’t the best solution. It is very bright and the colors are endless, and motion is easily controlled with a smart phone app. But since it was my mistake with regards to WiFi I’m still rating 5.

Great for Office Ambiance, Not Super Bright but Still Looks Awesome
I picked these up to add some backlighting behind my large office monitor, and they definitely elevated the look of my setup. The install was easy, the adhesive backing stuck well, and the app control made it simple to dial in colors. The segmented color control is a nice touch, letting you create subtle gradients instead of one solid color. That said, they’re not as bright as I expected. If you’re looking for lights to fully illuminate a room, these aren’t it. But for ambient glow or accent lighting (especially behind a screen or along a desk), they do a great job and make the space feel more modern and relaxing. Setup tip: take your time running the strip evenly around the edges for the best diffusion, and download the Govee app to play around with the music sync and DIY modes. That’s where these lights really shine. Overall, a solid product for the price. They make my workspace look professional and clean, even if I wish they packed a little more brightness.

Awesome lights and features!
Super fast delivery per usual, and a great price on cyber Monday. Finally got around to installing these under our kitchen cabinets for counter lighting, and then ran them up the back side of cabinets and on top for a backlight above the cabinets. Lights stick great with tape(didnt need to add clips or screws), built well and fairly flexible, and have SO many settings and options for the rgbic's that I went with. Only flaw would be that they dont vime with a remote. So have to walk to end of cabinet and reach under to hit power, rsther than sitting the remote on the shelf by the kitchen like we had previously. App is great abd user friendly, just a pain to have to open phone and then app to connect to BT, and then turn on. Not a huge issue at all, just taking some getting used to lol

BUY THESE NOW!!!!
I originally bought one of the 6.5' sets to try out. I kind of had an idea on the look I wanted. I loved everything about it that I bought 2 more, as well as this set that this review is under. This set is the one behind my TV. The 3 smaller sets are at the desk. 1. I did read the reviews and found that the spacing of the LED's is wider. This is true, by almost twice as much. But in my situation I could loop this 10' string around the back of my TV twice. This is a 42" TV hanging 3 1/2" from the wall. The double loop around was actually enough to split the difference between the LED's so they wound up evenly spaced. It works perfect for me. Some of the preset scenes look strange. But they are not something I use anyway. Just mentioning that in case you care. 2. This set SHOULD work plugged into your TV's USB port. But keep in mind that when your TV is off (most TV's), there is no power going to the USB port. So they will turn off and on with your TV. I prefer dedicated power via the power strip behind my TV. You can then have control over it with the TV off. I prefer this as I have "scenes" set up in the app for day/night. 3. The App. THE APP!!!!!!! Holy h*ll they put together a very intuitive interface with a lot of features, without a mention of your credit card. I know.... you read somewhere else that the App is shady/intrusive/etc. because it requires Location Permissions. The reason for this is because the app connects to the lights via Bluetooth. In 2019 the Android system was redone in a way that requires ALL apps working through Bluetooth to have Location permission. It is not because of the app developer. It is because of the programming of ALL Android operating systems since 2019. Any other Permissions can be individually addressed via your Settings>App Settings screen of your phone or tablet. You can do this for all apps. But if it uses Bluetooth, Location permissions must be granted. What I love is the "Group" function within the app. You can link the lights you want together and assign different scenes. You can set up one touch scene changes by saving them. You can create your own scenes in the DIY section. You can break it down into segments on the same string! There's even timer functions, though I have not played with them yet. I got my first set a few weeks ago and I'm STILL playing with the app and learning stuff when I'm bored. :) Like I said, I bought one to "test it out" and should have bought all 4 sets at once. So far the adhesion has held up really well. I've been keeping an eye on where I made my bends but it's still holding. I THOROUGHLY cleaned the surface. It's key guys! I'm talking multiple swipes with some 90% rubbing alcohol. Though I'm sure the little included swab would do the trick in a pinch. I didn't even use it. Went with my overkill approach. Another key is to not remove the protective backing all at once before you install. Peel a bit back, get it started and pull the backing as you follow pressing firmly with your other hand. Get it CLEAN and take your time. A 10 yr old could do it. The ones at the desk are individually plugged into a cheaper stand alone 6 port USB box for power. It gets pretty warm but that may be because I went cheap there. I don't suspect an issue with the lights because they have been on 24/7 since install and I have never noticed a fluctuation in brightness or flickers. Not once. I needed the USB box for my particular setup but the heat is borderline concerning. Just a bit warmer than expected. So if you plan a similar setup, just something to keep in mind. I have had no issues so I can't comment to the Company itself or their service. But they arrived as scheduled.... Quick. Instructions are clear and easy to figure out. And for a $20 set of good quality lights, I'd say they have their $h!t together. These aren't just some "cheap" string of LED's. You'd expect to find at least one flaw between 4 different sets with the "cheap" guys. I will be purchasing more products from these guys in the future. As you can see.... I give this a HUGE thumbs up! 5 Stars so far! I'll update if I do have an issue. If you're reading this, there's a reason. BUY EM!

Not reliable
I purchased two boxes containing the govee 16' led lights. I've been using them on my enclosed front porch . Worked great for a couple of weeks, but now both have the same defect appear. When turned off, both units have two sections of lights that stay illuminated but with different colors. I have to unplug to get them to be off. Tried all the suggested fixes with no results. I guess the old adage you get what you pay for fits here. I won't buy again.

Great for Hidden Lighting—Bright and Affordable
I’ve used a few Govee products before, and I’ve come to trust the brand—and these RGBIC LED strip lights definitely deliver for what they’re meant to do: indirect lighting. I installed them under some floating shelves, and they look awesome when the light bounces off the wall or ceiling. They’re plenty bright and the colors are vibrant, especially in the app where you can mix effects or sync to music. At this price, they’re a solid deal if you just want to add some mood lighting without breaking the bank. One thing I quickly realized is that these strips really shouldn’t be out in the open. The individual LEDs are clearly visible, so if you look directly at the strip, you’ll see little dots of light instead of a smooth glow. It can look a bit cheap or distracting if they’re not hidden behind a ledge, diffuser, or trim. If you’re planning to mount them where they’ll be seen—like on the front of a desk or cabinet—I’d skip these and go for Govee’s higher-density strips, or their COB (Chip-on-Board) ones, which give that seamless, continuous light look.
