Air only comes out of schrader side when attached to presta valve and locked. Im about to return as defective unless there's something else to do?

Hi! I have to over pump at times because some air escapes, but there should be no need to put the adapter on, just use the presta part for your bike. There is one. Here it is in the picture. It sound like you are taken a step that can be done, but is not needed. It comes with a presta connector, I am pointing to it with my thumb for you. I assure you that it works! But, if you have a bike shop take the pump with you and watch the tech use it, you have to lock it tightly. See what he does, you don’t need your bike, if you want take off your front tire if that is a possibility. It will work, bring it to a pro for a tutorial (:

How do you use the road bike nozzle?

Have no problem as there are choices for different nozzles. I believe there is a YouTube video description.

How do you use the attachments? They don’t seem to fit.

You have to flip the valve release on the back of the head insert and lock down the black lever

Why is the pressure guage reading zero?

I can only say if the valve is connected to the tire or inflatable object you should show the pressure. I have 2 of these pumps and both of them have worked perfect. You may need to exchange it if the pressure gauge is not working.
