Updated 7 months after purchase: Great quality (mostly), functional, and beautiful set
Update: after using these a few times, I did notice something I initially overlooked: one of the spatulas actually has a cork filler in an area that has a dime-sized hole in it. Not too big of a deal for me, but certainly affects the overall quality and sanitation of this set. As another reviewer mentioned, part of what makes these so beautiful is that olive wood often has many knots. The downside to this is that is can be difficult to find seamless pieces of wood out of which to carve a whole utensil without any imperfections. This probably varies among sets, and I still rate these 5 stars. Original review 6/2018: This mix of olive wood utensils is just the quality and design I was looking for. They have a great weight to them, are much more rigid than bamboo utensils, and the pattern of the olive wood is absolutely beautiful. These sturdy spoons and spatulas will last forever-- if treated after every few uses, they should look great forever, too! And unlike plastic kitchen utensils, these won't melt. A few things to consider: -I recommend treating these after every few uses with a beeswax/mineral oil salve (aka wood butter) to protect from heat damage and to keep the pattern of the wood looking bright and new. -There's not a very noticeable difference between the curved and flat spatula (as listed in the item description). I'd say these 2 items are interchangeable. -Would be great to have a slotted spoon in this set.

Very comfortable to use
Absolutely fantastic, nice olive wood, good size, not very heavy, comfortable to use. One spatula has small wood crack, but I am absolutely happy with the other four.

Love them!
Overall, these are great utensils. They seem extraordinarily sturdy. I just got them the other day and have used them twice. This picture is from last evening when I was sautéing some beef for tacos. Easy to clean, great price point, and beautiful!

Beautifully designed and crafted made wood utensils
I thought surely there had to have been a typo—surely, these should be closer to $50 for the set, based on what I’ve seen. No, these are what they claim to be—very beautiful olive wood utensils—for a crazy low price. They’re up a bit in price now but are still a very good value. These are absolutely worthy of gifts. Add some beautiful packaging, maybe with pretty ribbon, and you’ve got a wonderful gift for cooks on your gift list, weddings, house warming, and more. I washed mine before first use with a good scrub of damp salt, followed by a thorough rinse and then sprayed with vinegar to sanitize. I am assuming there’s a coating of some sort because they faded a bit. That’s fine and will not damage them. If you want you can condition from time to time with olive oil or even tung oil (best, but Google how to use and identify pure tung oil if you’re not familiar with it). If you properly care for these, they should last many years. They are a fantastic value and made of very beautiful wood, I couldn’t be happier. Oh, and not made in China, which has become important to me because of human rights.

Even better in person! They look and feel like a quality wood utensil.
My expectations, mostly because of the affordable price point, was for these to be similar to the bamboo utensils we have all seen but with a more interesting wood grain. I was so wrong and thankfully so. First thing that I noticed was the quality. SO MUCH BETTER than bamboo, They look expensive. They are not short or skinny. The handles have heft although not heavy. The wood is gorgeous. The undertones in the wood stays consistent throughout the set. I don't know if they use the same tree for each but it looks as if they do. I am really happy to have found an affordable set of utensils with a unique wood grain

Olive wood utensils are not olive the same
These things are solid! Thicker handles give confidence even when stirring/working thicker sauces or heavier, food stuffs. Spoon and spatula shapes are perfect for a variety of cookware. The wood grain is tight and beautifully featured with chaotic striations. Genuinely surprised at the quality given the low price compared to in-store purchased utensils. I will never need to replace these (except when friends steal them on party nights). Be sure to use a little food grade mineral oil to condition the wood, for an even more attractive look.

Sadly these are breaking easily…
Why did you pick this product vs others?: Not happy with these. They look great but very quickly the one chipped. I thought it was a fluke but now a few months later I have one that is splitting in several places and will need thrown away. I hand washed these and never put them in the dishwasher. I am very unhappy with the quality and would not recommend purchasing these unfortunately…
