I got this for my mom I believe a three yrs ago if not longer and she still has it. It is very sturdy..and I can say the only way it would come off your keys or wherever u have it is if someone yanked it apart or it got stuck on something n you pull on it. But it is worth it she loves it n after all these yrs it kept its color
