Caught 20+ Chipmunks. No Complaints.
They work great for me! I’ve caught a ton of chipmunks, I barely even put bait in there. They just crawl in like dummies. I don’t know why people are complaining.

Messy only caught 1 mouse, no chipmunk.
Waste of money ....I caught a field mouse. He suffered terribly after being caught. Mind you I am not a lover of mice or other rodents. But the mouse was covered in feces and nearly dead when I found it in the trap. It was a real mess to clean out. Apparently frightened to death. I think a QUICK death would be more humane. As for CHIPMUNks I have tried all sorts of traps and they are some how able to disengage this trap( the door flap,) eat the food and leave. I used bricks on the top, I drilled holes in the flat seam and used garden clips to hold it down. No chipmunks no mice after the initial first mouse. When you capture them alive or half dead...how do you deal with this???? how do you get the rodent out if it is still alive?? I ended up putting the nearly dead mouse (still in the trap,) in a bucket of water. I try to remind myself they are rodents who eat my garden, but it seemed cruel. 2017 Have set this trap again, blocking on entrance, bricks on top and somehow mice or chipmunks eat the tiny dab of peanut butter then squeeze out of the trap because the trap is flexible, these chipmunk are pretty smart to manuver it to get out. This trap has not worked since i initially caught one mouse last year. Waste of my money.

Amazing Little Trap for the Price
This trap works like a charm but it has to be used in a very specific way or it is indeed worthless. I totally understand the buyers who say it is a complete waste of money and it did not work. In every case I read, they did not use it correctly. I also caught nothing for months until I changed the way I use the trap. With the proper technique I have caught 10 chipmunks over the last two months and am working on #11. I am ordering another pair of traps after I finish this review. So, how do I use it you ask? First flip it upside down and put a small pile of sunflower seeds, dried corn or any seed type bait in the center of the trap. Place the trap in an area where you have seen chipmunks run by (like a mini game trail). Place a brick on top of the trap. Now monitor the trap until you see all of the bait is gone. That was free bait to the chipmunks with both doors laying flat down. Then re-bait the trap but this time turn it right side up. I put a single sunflower seed under each door (holding the door up about an eighth of an inch) and put it back where it was with the brick on top holding it down and providing cover. I don't use peanut butter cuz it makes a mess, it is hard to clean and it attracts too many ants. That's it. Good Luck.

Work great!
I remember seeing a chipmunk late last year and thinking how cute it was. I also thought it was cute that he was living under my porch. This spring that changed. I’ve never seen so many chipmunks before. Now that I’m finishing my landscaping and gardens, it’s a real issue. Theses should be a couple dollars cheaper because they are so simple and cheap to make. Their smooth interior and their design are very effective. If you have chipmunks and can’t stand them eating everything, especially any bulbs you’ve planted, and digging holes everywhere, you know what a pain they are. I was catching each one in a small dog cage and driving it to a park far away from my house. The problem becomes you can only catch one at a time because they’ll fight each other. It becomes a chore to transport each one at a time. I ordered four traps because I figured that would be more efficient and make it worth it for me. I set them out at night and was pleasantly surprised to see three of the four with a chipmunk struggling to get out. I gathered them up and drove them away to be with their friends at their new home. Or course, when I returned, I see more running around. They’ll be for tomorrow. One did cut his lip or fingers on the metal door unfortunately, but the other two were fine albeit a little tired from trying to get out. A review between these and a $50 trap that catches multiple at once indicated these were more effective, so I went with these. Good descision. I would have given five stars, but they could be cheaper based on their simplicity and the profit they likely garner. I was worried they might open in the car and I would be attacked by them on the way to the park, but it wasn’t a problem. I strapped them upright to a board with a bungee cord. Next time I’ll secure the entrances with another as well to make sure there’s no issue. I’ll order more should I feel the need, but would have initially if they were cheaper. Even at this rate, and the number of chipmunks that are likely around here, it will still be a chore to move four at a time. Black oil sunflower seeds are like crack to these little guys. Maybe at some point, I can start feeding my birds again and finish planting my flowers without a problem.

Nice idea, but not well executed
I bought these to trap and relocate chipmunks in my yard. I do not think they are well designed for the purpose. Despite weighing them down with rocks, the chipmunks thrash in them until they manage to turn them over and escape. I blocked one side so as to draw them in further to the trap but that did not work either. I am trying one more time before I give up by securing the trap to the ground with pins I've made AND weighing them down with heavy rocks. If that doesn't work I give up. I would not recommend this product and will try the Havahart style trap instead. My neighbor has had good success with it.

Sometimes they work, mostly not
This is a smart idea, however the squirrels are smarter. they flip the traps over and eat the bait. i have tried weighing them down and putting a milk crate over them so only the chipmunks can get in. still no good. less than 1/2 the time they work.

Easy way to use
I got 16 chipmunks in the first week. As long as you get to the traps relatively quickly, the chipmunks don’t suffer nor do they have a chance to flip the trap. Also, the kind of bait I used was wild bird scene, and they seem to really like that.
